A hug...........

can say, "I'll miss you," or, "I'll be thinking of you,"
It can say, "You're someone special,"
or, best of all, "I love you".
it can soothe a hurt, or calm a fear,
or cheer us when we're blue -
It almost seems a miracle
all the things a hug can do!
by Emily Matthews
A dear friend sent me a get well card with this verse on it, I felt the 'hug' as soon as I read it. Thank you Helen.
Another friend called to see me today, we had a good old chin wag for an hour. When she was leaving she gave me a hug. It's true "It almost seems a miracle all the things a hug can do!"
Thank you Sylvia.

Hi- thanks for stopping by my blog and for your kind words. Come back anytime! And don't go too fast on those crutches or we'll have to call you Evel Ken"knee"vel. ;) Hope your knee heals soon.

Thats brilliant about you cutting down on the meds.
A marathon soon?

Glad to hear you are sleeping and getting faster. How are your arm pits? (Crutches get a little tiresome after time.) Have you mastered stairs?

Yes I'm pleased with myself cutting down on the med Claire. Marathon? What a drinking session? Yes, I've not been out for three weeks!

No probs with the armpits Vita, I have elbow crutches, though I have a bit of hard skin on one hand! Stairs no problem, they wouldn't let me out of hospital until I'd mastered them.

Hello! Thanks for stopping by! I'm terribly sorry about your knee but very glad you're recouperating nicely. I ripped my knee on a shovel several years ago and am hoping I don't need a new one!

Empress Bee - Hi there, thanks for dropping by, I'll be back to visit you for sure.

Hi Josh, if I have any meds left at the end of this you're welcome to them honey.

Amazing Gracie (lovely name, same as my granddaughter!) thanks for visiting and for the good wishes re my knee. I hope you don't need a new knee but there are worse things!

Hi Catch, thanks for the lovely comments re my blog I enjoyed yours too.
You are so right about the old photographs, I think it's because they're sepia but then 50 years down the line we will probably all look the same as you say! :)

Thanks for the hug Kim and for popping in to see me.

Stine how nice of you to drop by. With all these good wishes for my knee I can't really go wrong can I? Thankyou. :)

We weren't a hugging family, I don't remember ever having a hug or a kiss from my Mom, and if I ever tried to hug them, Mom or Grandma, they would recoil. It embarrassed them, it didn't take me long to learn, NOT to do it. So I grew up without hugs or kisses. To this day, i am very uncomfortable when hugged, it appears that it can be passed down. but I hug my kids, and always have.

Oh nea it upset me to read you had grown up without hugs, such a vital part of growing up. At least you have not subjected your children to the same. Here have a great big hug from me (((hug)))).

Indigogirl thanks for the good wishes, glad you liked the poem and hugs! Love your blog.
