This is Worcester Town Hall.
Worcester is a lovely town with lots of old and new buildings.
Here's the quaint little pub where we had lunch.

Worcester Cathedral.
Worcester Cathedral is a magnificent sight as it rises majestically above the River Severn. Worcester has been the seat of a bishopric since the Seventh Century, and the Cathedral was served by monks until the Reformation. St Oswald and St Wulfstan were among the bishops. Since the Eighteenth Century, the Cathedral has been famous for its part in the annual Three Choirs Festival, the oldest choral festival in existence. We really wanted to tour inside the cathedral but unfortunately there was a service on so it wasn't possible. If you follow the link above you can find out more about the Cathedral.
We didn't have very long in Worcester before we had to rejoin the coach to carry on our journey to the hotel.

K works in Dudley. It's not exactly the back end of Britain, but it's not my first idea of a holiday destination either. Worcester's lovely though. And did you go to Red House Cone for the glass blowing? Looking forward to seeing that bit!
What a pity you didn't get to tour the cathedral, they are always so interesting. I have only passed through Dudley, maybe it has hidden charms :) Thanks for the glimpses of beautiful black and white Worcester buildings.

We didn't see much of Dudley apart from the hotel AJ. Worcester is quite nice and yes, we did go to Red House Cone for the glass blowing - fascinating!
I love Cathedrals and churches, they are so interesting Jenny, we were very disappointed we didn't get to go inside Worcester Cathedral.
Nice pics, Pearl. You're getting nearer to me. I haven't visited Dudley in years and then only went to the zoo. It must have changed somewhat since then. Worcester ... well I know that like the back of my hand. Love it's quaint areas. Now I'm looking forward to see how you like the Severn Valley Railway. Hubs goes there a lot since he's a bit of a train buff.

So much of the architecture in Europe reminds me of two areas in in Philadelphia called, Society Hill and Old City. You would swear you were walking through an old European town.
