Snow, snow and more snow......

Today I haven't been out at all but I snapped these photos from my front and back windows are various times during the day.

MWM measured the fall at 11.00 am it was 6 inches!

It's now 16.20 p.m. and it's still snowing and I don't like it!

What beautiful photos my friend. I keep hearing on the news how cold and snowy the weather is over there. Button up my friend and stay warm :)

Fletch said...

And to think you might have misssed all that if you'd left for Barbados earlier!

Fingers crossed that it doesn't get any worse, although the pundits on Sky are forecasting 'the same' for the next ten days.

Think positive ...

Famtastic proper blobby snow....no healf-heartedness like we had today in Norfolk

WOO HOO! I want to be there. :0)

Though it's easy to say it sitting here in Southern california all nice and warm in my office.

the pics are beautiful sweetie but I'm sure I would just stay in and wait out the winter till the blue birds come back in spring.

Do you have a snow mobile? That would be fun to do in that snow.

I know it's a pain but I LOVE IT!

Looks so beautiful. Its on its way here tonight!

Linda said...

Ah, welcome to my world! It's so pretty to look at but such a pain otherwise!

Stay inside where it's warm and hopefully it will clear up soon!

Fab fotos. Britain's really being battered by severe weather at the moment - I'm sure it'll head our way soon.

Back in the mid1990s we had a storm that started out not sticking but ended up burying the city under 25 inches of snow .. it was amazing ... pretty photos!

Holy moley, what a snowfall for this part of the world -- and we *still* haven't lost our snowcover here, from before Christmas, which is a first that I can remember here.

Happy Winter!
(I'm wishing it would GO! LOL)

Akelamalu said...

It does look beautiful I agree Dulce but everything has ground to a halt! :0

24" of snow??? Mike that would bring the whole of England to a halt FOREVER!!

That's exactly what I've been doing today Clean&Crazy - cuddling up and being cozy. ;)

Glad you like the photos Thom. It was -6C when I got up this morning, it's -0.3C at the moment and the snow has stopped.

I'm thinking positive and keeping my fingers crossed Fletch :)

Apparently it's heading your way Molly! :0

Our only transport is the car, which we can't even get down the grove to put on our drive Spiky. We've had to leave it on the road at the top of the Grove! I wish I was in California! :)

CG said...

Lots of snow here too! I'm glad I'm not due in work tomorrow though!

aims said...

That's nothing unusual for us so it's fun to watch you guys having fits about it!

I must say 6 inches in one dump IS quite a bit at a time - but what fun!

It's beautiful isn't it? Like diamonds in the moonlight.

CrAzY Working Mom said...

It's way more than our couple of inches we got yesterday. But, it was enough for school to be closed down here. In Arkansas we're not prepared for that sort of thing. When it snows we get to stay home. *LOL* Supposed to get more later on this week. The kids have their fingers crossed...me not so much.

Have a great week! Stay warm!!

Akelamalu said...

It's lovely to look at but it belongs on Christmas Cards Laney LOL

Oh good luck then Casdok!

I'm not going anywhere Linda, well not until Thursday anyway - hopefully it may have cleared a bit by then!

Well it is heading south Dumdad so I guess it will make it's way across the channel! :)

25 inches of snow Daryl? Good grief, and we think we've got it bad!

All this is on top of the Christmas snow that never disappeared Susan, so you can imagine how trecherous it is underfoot.

I'm so glad I've retired so no work for me either CG, though most of the schools are shut so I wouldn't have been going in anyway. :)

It's mayhem here Aims!

Great pictures mum!

It's starting to freeze here now. We've finally managed to dig the Astra out (with much revving and skidding) for F to try to get to Chorley tomorrow - sandwiches have been prepared and the shovel is in the boot! I doubt I'll be tempted to try to get N to nursery!

Empress Bee (of the high sea) said...

oh my! well it certainly is beautiful but oh so very cold! i am freezing here in florida too, we just don't have the snow.

I'm with you. I hate snow and we have more coming.

Until this afternoon we had had no more than a dusting of snow and I was feeling cheated. Driving on untreated roads this afternoon I have changed my mind about the snow.

I hope that it doesn't stop you getting away on your cruise. All the best for 2010!

I can imagine why you're tired of snow, but it is beautiful ... from a distance. I've shared warmer views at Happily Retired Gal if that will help ;-)

Do you live in Norway?

Beautiful pictures. Just keep dreaming of Barbados. There are white sands and drinks with little umbrellas calling your name.

Your pictures are beautiful. We are having a lot of cold weather here in east Texas, but thankfully no snow.

Sorry I have not been around, but life happens. My computer died and I am trying to figure out the new one.

OMG...I'm SOOOOOOO jealous!

These photos are GORGEOUS!!!

If I were there I'd be jumping in and making snow angels - HA!

So many people are blogging about all the snow they're getting this year. Even in places where it doesn't normally snow that much.

But don't worry, m'dear....

...the warmth and sunshine of Barbados is just a few days away!

Wow! You have quite a bit of snow and far more than we have here. The storms seem to have gone all around us. We only had about an inch this morning but it started snowing mid-afternoon and is still snowing. However, the snowfall is very light.

Wishing you all the best in the New Year. I see many comments about your mother's story. Where can I purchase a copy.

Blessings,
Mary

Beautiful, gorgeous pictures! They look exactly like the animated film 'The Snowman', one of my favorite, favorite Christmas films. If England had snow regularly, snow tires would be on your cars, and 6 inches would simply be something to shovel out of your driveway. Like over here, for example...I believe I was shovelling those very 6 inches on Sunday...yes, yes I was...hmm...Christmas card snow never seems heavy, does it? You are going to LOVE your trip now!

Travis Cody said...

It looks fantastic! Still no snow for us. We might get lucky.

Molly Potter said...

The snow hasn't come this far....boooo. We did have a lot before Christmas though. Thank you for popping by

Don't you just love it when the snowflakes come out all over the photo? It looks so darn pretty. We are still snowed in too, but I have plenty of food in store, central heating that works, and all my kids are under the one roof - it could be a lot worse!

Akelamalu said...

The cruise is the only thing keeping me going SAW! LOL

I hope F doesn't get stuck anywhere Dan's Fi-ver, I'll keep my fingers crossed. xx

I really don't mind the cold Bee, you can always wrap up warm but the snow - Oh Geeze I just wish it would disappear!

They do look like toadstools don't they Indigo? They're actually garden lights. :)

Oh good luck with it Dr. John. I can't wait to get away.

I haven't driven for over a week the roads are just too bad here Cheshire Wife! Thanks for your good wishes. x

Oh I agree with you Storyteller it LOOKS beautiful but it causes such mayhem. :0

I'm beginning to think we do G-man! LOL

I can hear them Deb, I really can. :)

Nice to see you back Pam. Do you get snow in Texas?

I just knew you'd like snow Ron! Just a few days to go then I'll be in shorts and t-shirt!

Lucky you missing out on the snow Mary. You can buy a copy of my Grandmother's biography from Lulu just click on the link in my sidebar. Or you can read it for free on my webpage if you click on the other link. I hope you like it. x

I just hope we get there Cloudia - fingers crossed.

That's it exactly Julia, we are just not prepared because we don't get it regularly! x

Gosh Trav you're looking forward to getting snow??? :0

Lucky you Molly! :)

Oh yes the snowflakes showing on the photos make it look fabulous Shrinky. You are in the best place -home, warm and well fed - stay there! LOL

It's the same here. Picturesque but treacherous. I had no choice but to stay indoors. Like you I took the pictures through the windows.

buffalodick said...

Now you're in the big leagues! My town has been missed by the big snow falls all week!

Akelamalu said...

Indoors is the best place to be Valerie :)

Oh how I wish the snow had missed us Buff!

How clean and pristene this looks as you take the picture. I know that it will go in a short while and I can help but feel that the snow helps usher in the long awaited spring. Great photos

i was reading about the horrible weather you've had over there and wondering how you're doing. glad to see your safe and snug. it's been pretty weird here too. not sure what's going on.

I am in agreement with you. It's so pretty, but what a nuisance!! We have the same driving issues here--no one knows what to do. We got three inches and school called off because of a blessed snow day! whoo hoo! It's too windy and cold to play outside in it though.

That snowcat is adorable. It totally looks like a cat. They did a great job!!

I don't like it either! I can't stand being cold (makes the Fibro hurt worse), and I HATE driving in winter weather.
