Friday 55 Flash Fiction #88 The Hunter...

Hiding in the sparse brush, he watched through narrowed eyes.

His prey stopped and peered round nervously.

He was careful to stay downwind, he didn't want to spook the game.

Poised ready for the kill.

The moment was right.

The man's eyes were wide with horror...

as the hunting lion pounced, claiming him for dinner.

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

Oh my goodness, I didn't see that one coming today! I thought it might have a humorous twist at the end rather than a meal for a lion!

Well - blogger wouldn't let me comment on gold rush - so I'll say it here. Great idea! I have some old engagement rings - ahem - that I would like to part with. Over here there's a place in town that does it. I'm thinking of taking them in before we leave on holiday. It would make great pocket change! hehehehe

Good FF btw!

Wonderful surprise ending, like O'Henry.

Instead of the right to bear arms, I've always supported the right to arm bears.
