Fate
Abandoned, no longer of use.
Caught up in a sudden gust of wind.
Dragged this way and that, in an undulating rhythm created by nature.
Swirling upwards, heading for heaven.
Destined to spend eternity flapping like a flag
snagged in the branches of a barren tree.
Thus the fate of a discarded plastic carrier bag.
Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

Another Akela Friday 55 Flash Fiction in the bag!
I'm glad we're seeing less and less of this now. Hooray to the having to 'ask' for a carrier.
Great 55, as always, Ak. x
I guess fate has no bounds...
Excellent job as always Ake.
Thanks for playing, and have a Great Week-End...G

I wonder how many of those bags have been made over the years?
You couldn't have worded it better, that describes many a plastic bag I've seen cavorting in the wind!
Aw you're very kind Ron x
LOL that's right Dumdad!
I agree with you Laney and thanks. x
Indeed G-man and thanks :)

poor lonely bags :( hehe great 55, ake. i'm back w flash fiction this week, so i am up. woot. lol
Such eloquence for a humble little bag. Well done.
once again a perfect verbal accompaniment to the photo!
Eternity is right, those things take forever to decompose!
But I suppose the poor bag didn't get to decide its fate, nor has it a voice to relate the tale. Lucky for Baggie, there's Akelamalu!
Sometimes these perforated bags flapping away make me think of those rags people once tied to trees and bushes, to ask favors of the gods.
It's great to see you back doing 55 Ciara, glad you enjoyed mine. x
Cheers Jeff :)
Aaah thankyou Daryl x
Don't they just Mojo!
They do, now you mention it Julia!
Once again you pulled me in and made me curious about where we were going - creative! If I knew how to create one of those fancy award thingamabobs I would and I would present it to you! :)
If only it had been re-cycled....
I have some "goodies" for you on my site.
The combination of the plastic bag and the barren tree is subtle and succinct. Very nice.
Every week they get better and better. I bow before you.
We have had real windy weather here the past few days...I believe I saw the same bag in a tree in my yard! Nice work...:)
That is beautiful and imaginative 55ve Ake. I love it!
