Susan at Stony River hosts this fun theme each Monday, so do pop over and read the others who have signed Mr. Linky. The rules are thus:
Every Monday Susan will post a picture for the subject of your story. Microfiction means the shortest of short stories. Think Aesop's fables, comic strips, or even jokes: complete stories that can be told in under a minute. For this game, the limit is a tweetable 140 characters or fewer, including spaces and punctuation.
Here's today's picture and my contribution.
Waiting patiently, on a dark and dismal day, determined to make the most of the visit to the area by experiencing everything on offer.
The ferry was out there somewhere.

Our ferries sale unerringly through the soupiest fogs. I love to listen to the "ship talk" as everybody blows their horns to signal their locations.
Offers are always tempting. Let's hope the ferry can find its way to the jetty in that fog
It's frustrating to visit a lovely place in bad weather. Pity we can't order the weather we want ... grins.
Hopefully it finds them.
Nice one.
Pracuj dla przyjemności a więc w taki sposób by była ona pożyteczna dla wszsytkich a przekonasz się, że będziesz miec więcej niż do życia potrzebujesz.
Aw, not the best vacation day ever. But it says something about your characters that they are trying to make good fun of it in spite of the weather. Nice one!
Nice One Ake!!!
Yes, can't waste the moment . . .
At least boats/ferries have radar - I hate driving my car in fog !
I'm sure it will Grandpa :)
Bad weather can put a damper(pardon the pun) on a day out but I suppose the trick is to not let it Valerie :)
Hopefully anthony :)
Welcome syneloi, I just wish I could understand what you've written.
They are making the most of what they've got Lisa ;)
Cheers G x
Definitely must waste the moment Jabblog
You get a great feel for an area by experiencing everything about it - good and bad included. I always think so.
Made me laugh!
Akela;
Your MF brought back memories of taking the ferry over to our cabin on Washington Island, Wisconsin.
Thanks for bringing up those memories in my mind!
I could almost hear the ferry horns in the fog as I read yours! I've seen it look just like that here in Seattle! Love your take! Enjoy your week!
Sylvia
Another brilliant Microfiction!
And a perfect example of going with the flow and making the most of it!
Hope you're having a wonderful Monday, m'dear!

Were they certain the ferry was out there somewhere? I hope that it eventually showed up, before they were chilled to the bone. Great mm!
Have a wonderful week. Cheers~
You are so clever. I looked at the picture and thought,'what could she possibly have written to go with this ?' But you did it so well!
Lol. Poor ferry. ;)

I hope they didn't have to wait too long for their ferry to come in.
I really want to shout 'it's behind you'... but that would be stupid :)

I think I can hear it too Odat x
I'm sure it will Dianne :)
Hi I'm just flying past on the way out.
Are we at cross purposes?
I'm not sure! Honestly.
What I meant was you have to take responsibility in basic ways. The example I gave was deliberately major, but what can that person do? Just say alive. Drs say patients can and do decide to hold on or not.
So if you start there, you can eventually get everywhere. But if you can't do it small, I'm sure doing it big won't work either!
That's my view on responsibility, I never REALLY did it bar the very basics and even a lot of them went... which is what I'm trying to get back. (Somehow.)
:-)
Take care
Hope springs eternal for that ferry! LOL
This is about what it looks like here. Dismal.
Mmmmm, keep going Gleds
It does indeed Nitebyrd!
I hate dismal weather too SAW!
