Susan at Stony River hosts this fun theme each Monday, so do pop over and read the others who have signed Mr. Linky. The rules are thus:
Every Monday Susan will post a picture for the subject of your story. Microfiction means the shortest of short stories. Think Aesop's fables, comic strips, or even jokes: complete stories that can be told in under a minute. For this game, the limit is a tweetable 140 characters or fewer, including spaces and punctuation.
Here's today's picture and my contribution.
Sam’s effort to cheer the Captain didn’t work.
His comment of
“We may have lost the boat but we’ve still got the soap Cap’n!”
Just didn’t help.

Enjoyed that. Gives a whole new meaning to 'washed out to sea' :-)
Sometimes silence is golden?!
Great story and Anthony's comment had me laughing.
Thanks for all your messages. The one when you said you couldn't make heard nor tail of what I was going on about made me laugh. I don't think I did either! Then again, I look back and CAN follow everything I put, of course I'm reading back shorthand so I understand the gist anyhow. whereas you'd be lost in all those weltering words...
... your pictures haven't loaded! Let me try and get them up properly!
Eh I get it now...
... that is ME!
"All washed up"...!!!!!!!! ha ha ha
;-)
LOL! He didn't appreciate the soap and flannel eh? :O)
There's always someone insisting on looking on the bright side, isn't there? :) Loved this!
Well, there's no excuse for not washing now the soap's been saved.

when you lose your ship it's hard to be cheered

I could see maybe how his trying to cheer up the Capt with that line might not work1
“We may have lost the boat but we’ve still got the soap Cap’n!”

And I also laughed at Empress Bee's comment...soap on a rope! Hilarious!
Have a marvi Monday, m'dear!

No, I don't think soap will make up for loss of the ship, but at least they can stay clean for each other!! What a hoot I love it! Hope you have a great week!

Good one.
That does seem like poor consolation!
But you've really got to give Sam props for trying to cheer the captain up even if it didn't quite work out!
I love old postcards too Maggie :)
Ah I see. Daryl is a lovely lady and I can understand why you would want her for your sister Dianne. :)
