Friday 55 Flash Fiction # 71 Ex Smoker

Ex Smoker

Fred was desperate to give up smoking.

Health was important, not the cost, he was rich.

The hypnotist promised startling results.

Ten sessions at £10 each.

Surprisingly it really worked, Fred had been an ex smoker for ten years when he died.
Fred's family couldn't understand why he'd left all his money to the hypnotist.

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

Okay, I'd like to meet the hypnotist...wonder if he still has Fred's fortune...or at least part of it. I need to find me a rich friend. LOL

Thanks for "popping over" to my blog and thanks for the kind comment.

I loved your 55 words. I do wonder how in the world you manage to get pictures interspersed with text. I only know how to insert pictures at the top. (I'm still quite a novice.)

I read your Wednesday blog, Portrait Of Words # 8, and was fascinated by the idea of using pictures as a format for creative writing.

Thanks,
Prayer Girl

I gave it up four years ago.

However....I sure could use a hypnotist to help with some other things in my life....like cleaning my apartment...

This reminds me of one of those silly childhood songs my son used to sing. I don't remember the whole thing but it ran along the lines of:
"Mumps", said the doctor
"Measles", said the nurse
"Nothing" said the lady
With the alligator purse
Miss Suzie smacked the doctor
Miss Suzie smacked the nurse
Miss Suzie paid the lady
With the alligator purse.

Okay, so maybe it's not the same.
