Susan at Stony River hosts this fun theme each Monday, so do pop over and read the others who have signed Mr. Linky. The rules are thus:
Every Monday Susan will post a picture for the subject of your story. Microfiction means the shortest of short stories. Think Aesop's fables, comic strips, or even jokes: complete stories that can be told in under a minute. For this game, the limit is a tweetable 140 characters or fewer, including punctuation and spaces.
Here's today's picture and my contribution.
Gazing across the water, May wrinkled her brow,
as she watched her shoes float away,
wondering how she’d get across the rocks without them.

Great - and lovely picture!
Perhaps a kind sailor will swim out and save the day
Poor May, I guess next time she will have a better grasp of her shoes.
Of course! LOL. Great take on the picture.
Now THAT made me laugh. Mum used to make us tie ours together with their shoelaces and hang them round our necks!
Oh, poor May! Will she ever get back across the rocks? Will the tide return her shoes? This sounds like the beginning of a good story. Witty!
I hope she's got a hardy soul ... I mean sole :-)
Enjoyed that.
Cheers Flowerpot :)
Hopefully Valerie :)
I think it's a lesson learned Bill ;)

I bet May wishes she'd done that with her shoes Morning AJ ;)

That could be a conundrum. Well done :)
Sounds just like Monday to me. :)
Now when they say to kick of your shoes, they don't really mean to kick them so they end up in the water!
I love your spare, rich words!
Aloha from Waikiki
Comfort Spiral
Maybe she could 'walk on water' like a few souls before her!!! Wonderful take on this week's picture. Cheers!
This is so funny! I liked the big spaces between the lines of text--It drew out the funny ending. Great one!
Oh dear, May may have some sore feet after getting back across the rocks. I hate it when my shoes take off on a path of their own!
Akelamalu: You have a way of surprising a reader.
one thing thgough...May's shoes were as big as boats? hehehe.
