Al Fresco...........

MWM and I must be the only people in Christendom who don't like barbequed food, but for us eating Al Fresco is not about that, it's about enjoying good food outside in the fresh air.
Take yesterday for instance. We spent most of the day sitting in the garden so it was natural progression to eat our evening meal outside while the sun was still shining, the birds were still singing and the air was clear.
We had a simple meal - a fresh salad with fat juicy jumbo prawns, fresh homemade wholemeal bread, ice cream with honey and a bottle of Pino Grigio to wash it all down. Delicious.
On sunny summer days, and nights, food eaten outside always seems to taste better don't you think?

Ah, with a garden such as yours I, too, would enjoy my meals Al fresco.
So glad the knee and back are doing better- Must have been the Pinot Grigio.

Yes, every house I've owned until this one has had a screened-in porch, where virtually all meals took place in good weather. I'll miss that this year - but plan to get in some picnics when I can.

I think the Pinot Grigio had a lot to do with my recovery!! :)

What a shame you don't have a screened in porch anymore, hope you manage to get plenty of picnic time.

I've always thought food tastes better after hard work or play outdoors...if only a PBJ sandwich it just tastes wonderful outdoors!

Ah yes most definitely, anything eaten outside at the end of day with a setting sun is so nice. I love barbecue, but by far it is not the only thing that can be enjoyed outside. I put a little table on the back porch, so I could enjoy the setting sun, and I often go there to eat.

That sounds so nice! If we were to try to sit outside and eat here, our food would be all blown away and wet as we're having an enormous rainstorm right now and it's still cold, too! Waah!!

Glad to hear your knee is doing better, I managed to screw up my back again yesterday doing some simple housework so I not feeling too good again. Sigh ... I miss not hurting!!

Such a shame you're getting poor weather. Although it's very overcast here today, though not cold. Sorry to hear you've done your back in again, it's not hard to do!
