Friends........

Riverpoet (Poetic License) gave me the above award just before Christmas, she said:

Akelamalu over at Everything and Nothing for her continued comments even when I don't make it over to her place on a regular basis

Well I have to tell Riverpoet it's entirely my pleasure!

This is the thinking behind this particular award:
These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

So, in the spirit in which it was given I hereby pass it on to the following, in no particular order, fellow bloggers who show the spirit of friendship as detailed above.
Cloudia (Comfort Spiral)
Flowerpot (Flowerpot Days)
Storyteller (Small Reflections)
Ron (Vent)

If you don't already visit them do yourself a favour and drop in, you won't be sorry.

I'm adding to this post as Mike (Rambling Stuff) just left me a message to say he has given me an award -

Mike passed this litte beauty onto  all those who commented on his blog in the Month of December, so I'm going to do the same.   So folks, you know who you are please take the award with my love.

Congratulations on the award.
I have just scrolled down to your last few posts and see that you have had a lovely time with your grandchildren, who are all delightful!
They are what makes everything so lovely, the grandchildren. We are blessed to have them.

Congratulations, Akelamalu, on your awards! You certainly deserve them!

With regard to private schools... You said: "The schools here that get the best exam results and have the best students are church schools with a strict code of practice - there must be something in it don't you think?" Yes there is something to it and that is that private(religious) schools can pick the cream of the crop to go to their schools and therefore get the best exam results. Public schools must accommodate everyone, bright and not so bright - so that everyone has a chance to make it to college. My point was not against religious schools, Akelamalu, but that public schools should be religion-free. I do agree with Jamie that you can teach religion-free ethics in public schools, though. :)

You're very welcome Ciara. x

I so agree with you Maggie, children, in particular grandchildren, make Christmas very special. x

Aw thanks Catch xx

Gee thanks Dumdad how kind. :)

Welcome Claire and thank you m'dear.

Mmmm there are quite a few Buff ;)

And the same to you Riverpoet, thankyou. xx

Teach I wasn't suggesting that you have anything against religious schools, just making the point that the code of practice church schools have seems to work. I went to a public school where school assemblies (not particularly religious) were held every morning and the discipline and ethos of the school was much better than the one in which I now work, where the students are not brought together in any way. I hope I'm making sense here.

Congratulations on these two well-deserved awards and thanks for the linky-luv. I'll definitely check out these links as time permits. I'm glad Mike passed along the award I distributed at my new WordPress blog recently. It gives me pleasure to see it popping up around the Blogosphere when I visit bloggy friends. One of these days you might enjoy checking out Happily Retired Gal in addition to Small Reflections as time permits. Maybe I'll sign in here with that link (instead of my usual one)... just because ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

Hey Aks
nothing that's good and worthwhile ever comes easily.

or lasts

well that's my pathetic excuse i'm sorry

you may ask why i feel the need to apologize when i'm the "victim" of this crime... but not so!

I think I cause more upset to others than I do to myself hence I think an apology is warranted

:-/

Gledwood said...

that's ok... not ok... well you know what i mean

do you know what i think our messages literally just crossed just now when i left one at yours

yup: I left mine here 1 min later than yours there so there's no way you could have seen mine 1st even if you were the fastest typist in Christendom... so as the old song title goes our letters just crossed in the mail...

Gledwood said...
