I’m talking paedophiles here folks, but I’m not really interested in their welfare, I’m just pointing out the views put forward for their disgusting, perverted ways!
Following on from my previous post ‘Life’, what I’m really interested in is the reasoning behind the meagre sentences meted out by the judicial system, or should I say the judges, some of whom appear to be too concerned with the welfare of the paedophile rather than the victims.
In June 2006 Craig Sweeney was given a life sentence for the kidnap and assault of a 3 year old girl, which happened only weeks after his release from prison for an earlier child sex offence. The point is he could get parole in five years time.
Keith Fenn, 25, was given concurrent two-year and 18-month sentences, for twice having sex with a 10 year old girl, who the judge said “dressed provocatively”. He could be free in only months after spending eight months in jail on remand, Judge Julian Hall described the rape as an "absolute crime", but insisted it was an "exceptional" case because of the girl's perceived maturity.
Judge Hall hit the headlines previously after telling another convicted sex offender Eric Cole, 71 , who admitted sexually assaulting a six year old girl as she played in a garden, to buy his child victim a bicycle to cheer her up! Sentencing him Judge Hall said Cole needed treatment for his lust for young girls to take place in the community, as a previous jail term for sexual abuse on a child had failed to rehabilitate him. Cole, had been jailed for 15 months for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in 1998
Roy Whiting who was sentenced to life for the murder of Sarah Payne in 2000 had, at a previous trial for kidnapping and indecently assaulting a girl of nine in 1995, been jailed for only four years but was freed after only 30 months. Whiting was said in a psychiatrist's report to be "not a paedophile” but a high risk repeat offender.
Peter Voisey, 35 , was convicted in 2006 of snatching a 6 year old girl from her bath, kidnapped and raped her before dumping her naked and bleeding in an alley 300 metres from her home. He was given a life sentence with a minimum tariff of 10 years, meaning he can apply for parole after that time. During the trial it emerged that he had a conviction for molesting a girl in a leisure centre in 2001.
Do you see a pattern here? They all had previous convictions for molesting children, and were allowed to go free to re-offend!
When will judges get it into their heads that paedophiles cannot be cured or deterred? They need to be locked up and the key thrown away!
These are but five cases, there are many, many more, highlighting the farce we call justice in this country.
Now you can disagree with me if you like, but in my opinion judges who do not sentence paedophiles to the longest possible sentence allowed, must be fully paid up members of the paedophile circle! What other reason could there be for their leniency? Adults are meant to protect children, not hurt them. Surely locking up paedophiles would ensure that they are not free to prey on other children, so by being so lenient in sentencing the judges are in fact condoning the perverted activities of these beasts, or at least sending the message that it’s not really a crime to sexually abuse, torture or even murder a child.
This may seem barbaric to some, but I always feel justice has been served when paedophiles get their comeuppance whilst in jail, at the hands of other inmates. Inmates who may be serving time for all sorts of crimes, even murder, but who still have at least a shred of common decency left, because they too are incensed that there are people in this world who take delight in hurting children.
If hanging were an option for these vile creatures I would, yes I WOULD, volunteer to pull the lever!

Another passionately argued and convincing piece.
Time for Her Majesty to reopen the tower of London and let the ‘sickos’ play with the equipment in the basement…
Which of our Prez candidates is favored over there?
ahem, my thoughts generally go along with the 'string them up' philosophy.
Forgive me, I can't type what I am actually thinking in this comment. I have worked for lawyers for almost 15 years... I have actually had my bosses agree for me to leave the office when particular clients came in...
This is very well written and a copy of it should be mailed to every judge out there. I have never understood the leniency allowed for these sorts of heinous crimes and, like yourself, am happy that the inmates have taken it upon themselves to administer a better form of justice when it comes to criminals who prey on children.
If they are sick then they need to be locked away in a mental hospital and not put back out on the streets.
A freind of mine thinks they should be given the treatment for prostate cancer - that would knock out their testosterone and they wouldn't want to have sex. It's an expensive idea though.
This is such a huge deabte, Ak.
I used to work voluntarily in a secure unit - a unit for 'children' who had commited murder, arson and rape - a place children are sent to when they are too young to go to prison.
When you meet an 11 year old boy who you know has raped a 3 year old girl in a garden shed, it's hard to be non judgemental, which is what I somehow had to do.
My job was to ensure they were being treated fairly - not getting abused themselves by staff...being given the option of vegetarian meals and not forced to eat meat if that was thir choice...not getting bullied...that sort of thing.
When you then learn the boy's history...and all about his family life...and how he, himself, was consistently raped and abused and thrown out on the streets to fend for himself, it's hard not to question his reasons for turning out the way he did.
I'm not defending people who commit these crimes...especially adults who have the opportunity for 'therapy'. But in the case of the boy I referred to...where the hell were his parents? What, if anything had they ever taught him in his life? It seems wrong to me that at eleven years old he is locked up and his parents are free to live their life. I'm not saying he shouldn't be punished because he should. But there is something going seriously wrong in this world, and although parents cannot ever be wholly responsible for their children's actions, surely they have a huge part to play and should be accountable for some of their children's mistakes. A lot of the time I really felt that the parents should have been locked up themselves.
I could talk forever about this. I've seen so may children and heard so many stories.
Sorry, I kind of retracted from your initial question.
Any person - young or old - who is at risk of reoffending should not be on the streets. EVER.
As for the death sentence....that's a whole new debate.
Saw a statistic recently that 1 in 100 people in USA are in jail.. Obviously it isn't working here either..
Oh I really can't be bothered wasting my time probing the unprobable... just kill the bastards stone dead and QUICKLY
did you know when I was about 10 I went "train spotting" on a bridge
a man showed up from the opposite end (ie away from my house) calling me by my real name and saying he had "come to collect me"
apart from the fact I had never seen this guy in my life (and how on EARTH did he know my name and where I would be?) the look in his eyes... of great nervousness like he was doing something he really shouldn't told me to lie my way out of there.
i said that wasn't me and ran off home....
nothing at all happened but I put this out of my mind for nearly a decade afterwards
NO! Paedophiles should NEVER be kept alive to share and pervert their fellow prisoners' minds (that's what life-sentencing does... we've all heard of Myra Hindley and Rose West's little posses of pliant younger girl prisoners... how perverse is that?!? and I totally disagree with the idea of this 15-year "death row": if you're GOING to kill 'em do it THE SAME DAY AS SENTENCING don't let them live another hour? why SHOULD they live?
right I will shut up now take care!
;->...
It is Bee but it's happening all too frequently.
I try CG.
I don't know about play with them I'd like to see them actually on the rack gt281. I don't think people here care much either way who wins over there. My view is that Hillary is not strong enough to be President after letting Bill publicly humiliate her the way he did, she should have chopped his bits off!
You and many others Elena Jane.
I can imagine what you're thinking Misty, that must have been a difficult position to be in.
Thank you Linda I think we are in total agreement.
That at least would be a better option than setting them free Flowerpot.
I can understand where you are coming from Miss U and it must have been horific for you, I'm not sure I could do that job at all. I agree parents are to blame in a lot of cases, but it doesn't account for all - some people are just plain evil. Not all people who were abused as children carry on the cycle - I know from experience.
I don't think jail is a deterrent at all these days Buffalo.
You had a lucky escape there Gleds, they'll go to any lengths won't they?
I can think of a ton of ways to hand out the punishment but that would lower my standards of humanity and yet then agin, maybe I need to do that. Maybe put them in the General Population in the pen with the word pedofile tattooed to their forehead. Sort of remind me of Hester Pryn of the novel Scarlet Letter.
They should also be kept alive so that they could go through the torture while in prison.
Certainly did and that's 100% true: does my head in when I think about it. I asked someone in my family what do they REALLY think about that situation, all things considered (I asked this about 2 yrs ago) and was told most probably the man had been following me and so knew my name (I really did NOT recognize him and had a good memory for faces)... how very very sinister ... what on EARTH would have happened if I'd gone with him?
I think people like that (if he had done something) should be put down for their own misery. How horrible to know that your own urges are going to hurt little children so very badly? If not KILL them. I think the death penalty can be a mercy...
... as for "years" it's so easy for US outside to think x years isn't very much but just you think what you've done in that time! Even what I've done in that time (doing next to nothing)... prison is very literally a WASTE OF TIME ... far more constructive things can be done with disturbed people's lives to turn them around... or ~ if they really are that bad ~ simply snuff them out from sheer MERCY. All this "human rights" why should the right to "life" a total non-life go ahead of losing that right, being snuffed out and causing no more pain to oneself or anyone else... I used to be passionately against DEATH sentences (and still am against the American style 15 yrs death row prior to the simple act of snuffing out)... put these people OUT OF THEIR MISERY. That is the ultimate deterrant and the ultimate mercy all in one. I don't want anyone to suffer no matter how bad they were. Like so much rubbish: just get rid!!
Many thanks for your reply.
I too could think of lots of punishments for paedophiles Dave. Apart from depriving them of their liberty, prison is not a punishment these days, well certainly not in England - they have a better life than most pensioners!
I dread to think what might have happened to you had you not had the sense to run away Gleds. Paedophiles are notoriously devious in ways of getting children to do what they want. Thank goodness you were a sensible kid.
I have to agree with some of the comments from Miss Understood....where is the chance for that 11 year old boy...his parents neglected him abused him...what chance did he have...who knows when all his abuse happend..did it happend at a young age of 3...then growing up that's all you know...it's tragic...just tragic...one has to ask oneself...is this person capable of rehabilitation...who knows...so do we then just throw their lives down the toilet....I don't know....they will grow into adults...do we make it mandatory that they take courses and maybe they do need to be electronically monitored....again I don't know..my gut tell me they should...because if you have become that distrubed at such a young age...chances are you won't be reabilitated because it has become just a part of who you are...sad..but I believe true....
So adult offenders....did they just become adult offenders ...I think not...they to most probably were always curious and may have acted out when young but got away with it....But as an adult offender I say...yes mark them...and put them in general population...they tend to have a wasy with dealing with those sorts...they child was given no protection...so why should they...
Branding them would be an option RN, then I don't think they would last very long out in the world. At least children could be taught to recognise the branding and steer well clear.
It's such a huge question mark...They should not be allowed out in the streets and yet, I'm not sure if I have a problem with death penalty in these cases. It sure would eliminate the expense it costs all of us to keep them alive.
(Eva Cassidy in the background! She's my favourite! How did you know about her? I thought she was just known in the US and Canada.)
i was going to comment when you first wrote this post, but i had to refrain to decide what i really wanted to say. you know if it were up to me, we'd be castrating those mother effers. i agree w miss u that sometimes kids even adults who were raped/molested/abused eventually do these things, too. but then there are parents who are there for their kids, but psychologically in those kids/adults minds that the things they do are 'right' to them. there's no real sense of wrong and right when those behaviors are their 'right'. often, those who rape/molest/etc., try to get away with more crap and end up killing those that they do rape/molest/abuse. i have NO freaking sympathy for these people. do i think adults who mess w kids deserve to die? yes...because i know if someone ever messed w my children i wouldn't know what i would do, but i got a feeling i would want them harmed.
as far as the sentences go, i'm sick of them getting very little time just so they can go out and do it again. some of those who do time eventually get out do the same thing over again but take it one step further and kill their victim.
i'm with you on when these mother effers getting killed by the inmates because they think they are sick mothers.
ok, maybe i shouldn't talk about this anymore because i would just get too angry lol
p.s. i know this isn't the write place for it, but happy mother's day. i forgot to say that the other day :)
Line em up
SHoot em
Give me a rusty razor blade and I'll soon deal with all those paedophiles.
Yes the death penalty would save a lot of money MOI and in the case of paedophiles I am all for it.
Eva Cassidy is quite well known over here I think - certainly she's a favourite of mine.
Oh heck, this post got you all fired up didn't it Ciara - it does that to me too! Thanks for your input. (Hope you had a happy Mother's Day too honeyx)
Well that's short and sweet Susie, straight to the point!
Now that would be a deterrent AMKT!
Well documented, and succinctly done.
Adults raping children is one thing, children having sex with other children is SOMETHING entirely different. I am not saying it is right, but I remember back to my childhood, and their wasn't a child that I knew that wasn't sexually curious atsome ages as a child, and some would take it too far.
What We are talking here is pedophiles FULL GROWN ADULT MAILES HAVING SEX WITH SMALL CHILDREN. And they should be hung, shot, whatever, I don't really care, They deserve cruel and inhumane punishment, and the parents of the child, should be the ones who gets to "flip the switch."
MALES, knew that didn't look right.
Thank you David
I agree Nea that it is natural amongst children to be sexually, but yes we're talking adults here, a different kettle of fish altogether. The fact that they may have been abused as children as an excuse for doing what they do, it just doesn't wash with me. I was abused as a child but I didn't turn into an abuser - I know right from wrong - a basic instict that paedophiles do not seem to possess. I agree that the parents of an abused child should be given the option to pull the lever, I doubt that many would refuse.
Wow, that's a big fat hot potato Akelamalu. Paedophiles are despicable and surely a human form of evil. I could probably stay awake every night torturing myself with what could happen to any one of my four children, it makes me feel sick.
However, I couldn't ever volunteer to pull a lever or a trigger, I wouldn't be able to live with my actions.
A thought-provoking post.
Pigx
My ex-father-in-law is a pedophile. He is also a violent man and a rapist. He sexually abused his children—my ex-wife and her three sisters—from the time they were about 3 years old until each escaped from their “home.” He would never have been arrested except that, when she was in her mid-30s, my then wife provided evidence to the Attorney General that enabled his prosecution under Kentucky’s delayed prosecution law.
He served 12 years of a 15 year sentence in prison. He refused to participate in the prison’s sexual offender program. He was close to 70 when he was released. Although I have seen him in about 17 years, I believe him to still to be dangerous.
I couldn't agree with you more. I get furious when they keep getting chance after chance because the judge is pulling out the "psych card".
It's criminal. Not psych.
Dear Akelamalu,
I agree with you...Anyone doing something horrible to children has to get capital punishment..
take care
♥

Well said. Changes cannot come too son.
Some are for the death penalty, some are against Pig (I hate calling you Pig!), it wouldn't do for us all to be the same would it? I think we are all agreed though that a crime against children is the worst crime of all.
How brave of your wife to tell all after 30 years Nick, she is to be commended. As I said in my opinion Paedophiles cannot ever change and your ex fil is probably still abusing children if he gets the chance. At least you have Megans Law there (?) so people can find out if paedophiles are living close by. :(
Total correct RC!
Yes Skittles we are in agreement over that!
Sorry Bindi I almost missed your comment there. I agree with you totally!
In the case of child molesters, any trace of my own moral qualms would cease to exist.
Not only would I be able to pull the lever, but I would have no difficulty tying the noose and personally placing it around the offenders neck. Clumsy as I am, I would probably slip and hit the switch before the priest finished praying for the man's soul...oops!
I would have no problem whatsoever dishing out punishment to anyone who hurt one of my children. I have always said, they would NOT have to worry about what to do with them if they hurt one of my kids, if I got to them first.....
I feel very much like you on the subject Joe! Thanks for dropping by.
Me too Nea!
PS Joe, when I come to your blog I can't see any posts! Do I have to click something to read them?
Akela, this post is really great. And it comes at a time when a little girl is missing and people seem to have almost forgotten her.
I hope Shannon Matthews isn't added to the list.
Weird - I left a comment that got lost on cyberspace, I suppose. Ah well, it was just my Quaker plea for us to rise above dealing with a terrible problem through state-sanctioned murder.
Shannon is on my mind too Jo :(
If only things like this didn't happen Citizen we wouldn't even need to think about capital punishment. :(
Hi there, just read your comment over on Ruth's blog and I popped over to let you know all is well with Ruth, her computer is on the blink. It has been very frustrating for her as she has been busy with college work too. Anyhow I spoke to her on the phone today and all is well with her. She asked for me to thank you for your concern and sends her best wishes.
Denise
I'm very late to this party - my head was not co-operating - but I agree with your observation:
'In my opinion judges who do not sentence paedophiles to the longest possible sentence allowed, must be fully paid up members of the paedophile circle.'
Another reason that crimes against children don't warrant harsher sentences is basically because sociey still doesn't value them very much. I realize it seems to some that society has become child-centric. But it hasn't. Society still revolves around property and property crimes are treated much more seriously than crimes against women or children.
You've hit the nail on the head Julia, property is valued more than children!
