Succinctly Yours - A Microfiction Meme #1........

In the absence of Susan at Stony River's Microfiction Monday Meme I am joining in Grandma's Goulash new microfiction Meme - Succinctly Yours.

Grandma provides a picture and a word prompt and the rules are use the photo as inspiration for a story of 140 characters OR 140 words.

Want more challenge? Use the word of the week in your story. This part is optional.

This week's word is CATER and here's the picture and my offering using both the picture and the word in 140 characters, including spaces and punctuation.

Ann’s search was over.

The cottage was the right size and price

but the main attraction was that it would cater to her dream of a sea view.

Ah the all-important sea view.

Oooo. You found a new 140 character challenge. I might just have to join you in that.
Well done - specially for including the word of the week. That makes it much more difficult!

So far, we've all been focusing on the chair. How clever of you to see beyond to the lovely view. A good idea in real estate too.

Thanks so much for being a part of Succinctly Yours.

There is a real talent at crafting a story with such limits. Excellent job!

I love your take on this. So many things to consider when buying a house. ~ Calico Contemplations

That was simple enough. I don't mind the place and the view myself.

Something the majority of us aspire to eh Scots Lass?

Cheers Dumdad:)

Oh yes, do join in AJ, the more the merrier!

It's interesting to learn what people see in the picture isn't it Grandma?. Thankyou to you for taking the time to organise SY.

Why thankyou Beach Bum :)

Indeed Calico and I'm pleased you enjoyed it.

Interesting. And with the line "her dream of a sea view", one has to wonder: Is that simply something she wants, or has she dreamed about this view?

My cabin would be in the mountains but other than that the same dream. Very nice take on the prompt.

This one's great! Perhaps it's the opener to a new Mystery book series called "Just Right," a modern-day take on Goldilocks and the Three Bears, where the since grown up blonde is now doing sleuthing with three industrious types that are somewhat grrrrowlly!

When I saw this meme over at Dianne's I just knew that it was perfect for you and here it is! Brilliant!

And I would SO love to have a view of the sea ...

Charlene Amsden said...

sigh I live on a teeny, tiny island, yet still didn't manage a sea view. I have to walk a half mile for that.

Has anyone heard from Susan since she abruptly disappeared? Do we just take her meme and go on as if nothing is amiss?

Spiky Zora Jones said...

akelamalu: How doyou do it? To be able to say so much in so few words. I think the view is lovely...and so are you. xxx
