Succinctly Yours - A Microfiction Meme #40

Grandma at Grandma's Goulash provides a picture and a word prompt for this Microfiction Meme and the rules are use the photo as inspiration for a story of 140 characters OR 140 words.

Want more challenge? Use the word of the week in your story. This part is optional.

This week's word is SPECULATE here's the picture and my offering using the picture and word of the week  in 140 characters, including spaces and punctuation.

There seemed to be no clues to indicate why the man jumped.

Det.Yin did not speculate

he relied on his investigations to discover the truth.

Excellent. That could be the opening paragraph of a novel!

But where did he jump? Off the desk?!
You always do justice to this theme.

looking at the desk and reading your words open up a whole world of mystery
you have such a grand talent to do that!!

Akelamalu said...

Yes I suppose it could AJ :)

Thanks Beach x

Out of the window I imagine Maggie. Thanks, glad you liked it.

Why thankyou Dianne :)

I too tried to speculate. 3 years and Det.Yin's investigation had got no further.

A.K, I am sure there is a clue on that messy desk someplace! Det Yin should at least consider looking there again!

You are as clever as Det. Yin!

For a minute there, I thought YOU might be hiding behind the desk! <--Because, when I cLiCkY-cLiCkY your first Linky link (#9), you were nowhere to be found. LOL!

And "YIKES ALMIGHTY!" to your flashtale story! A scary commentary indeed. Yep, during these economically trying times, sadly, there ARE those of us who would rather jump, than stand in a merciless unemployment line. I, myself, would be more likely to get down on both knees and make a leap of faith. (THE PERK SO FAR: It might not pay the bills, but there's no "clean-up," if you know what I mean.)

Amenly!

You're probably right Valerie LOL

I'm sure he will Jim, he's very thorough.

Why thankyou Daryl :)

I entered the wrong link first SparkleFarkle, sorry about that. Jumping is a desperate solution for sure.
