Friday 55 Flash Fiction #162 The Wedding....

He took her hand, gazing lovingly into her eyes.

Hundreds of guests heard him say "I do".

Now it was her turn, "I do".

The vicar pronounced them Man and Wife.

At last, she thought triumphantly.

He lifted her veil and kissed her.

She opened her eyes and realised........

It had been just a dream!

Kate Middleton will have her dream wedding today when she marries her prince.   I wish them happiness.

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

Bless - did you dream of marrying your prince when you were young? I'm not sure I ever did - and certainly didn't want one of the real ones!
I think several FFF55s might have a wedding theme this week!

Oh what a dream! I'll join you in your good wishes. I seldom watch television during the day but today will be an exception.

This might seem strange but I'm a fan of both Prince William and Harry. Over here in America nearly all the children of the rich and powerful are decadent spoil trash with nothing in the way of redeeming qualities.

Those two men, after coming from an incredibly pampered background, still found time to serve their country but Harry went into combat. Best wishes to them all.

A very apt theme at present.

Lovely ultra short story to go with a world wide wedding that we hope will last through the years.

And they lived happily ever after!

I never really bothered with that dream. Which might explain my failed attempt at eloping. I ended up with a half-assed ceremony.

I got up at 4:00 am to watch it live, Akelamalu! You KNOW I'm a romantic. Had to catch the bus at 7:30, but they had very thoughtfully said their vows before I had to go to work - wasn't that nice of them?

I did marry my prince AJ! :)

Did you enjoy the wedding Valerie, I did. :)

I hope your family enjoyed our royal wedding Brian :)

I'm a big fan of William and Harry too Beach mainly because they are so like their mother and not their father! ;)

Well what else would I write about today Anthony? LOL

Oh the hats were magnificent weren't they Bee? :0

Wills and Harry are very much like Diana and not much like their father, thank goodness Dianne! I can understand you having a crush on Harry he's adorable. ;)

The service was rather long Daryl but that's royal weddings for you.

Oh yes we all hope it will last forever Jamie :)

I do hope so Mama Zen :)

Oh shame your elopement was a disappointment Alice Audrey. :(

I knew you'd be watching the wedding Julia and I'm so glad you got to see the important bit before you went to work. :)

Nicely done

Although for the Royal Wedding I do not believe they kiss during the ceremony.

Silly traditions heee

that is all

According to my SiL, who actually got up to watch the wedding (at ridiculous-thirty a.m. here in the states), there was no royal wedding kiss.

I specifically instructed our officiant not to say "Man and Wife," but "Husband and Wife" instead.

Akelamalu said...

You're right PBJdreamer they do not kiss at the actual ceremony.

That's correct Quilly, the royals do not kiss at the ceremony but they did kiss on the balcony of Buckinham Palace.

It was indeed Belinda :)

I hope you got to watch the highlights of the wedding Ron and I think you will have enjoyed it immensely. :)

Thanks G :)

Husband and Wife sounds so much better SAW :)

I'm afraid that's what it would be for me - just a dream.

Best wishes to Will & Kate; hopefully they can now get on their lives without quite so much hoopla and foolishness following them around constantly!

I definitely prefer the happy ending.
