Update and news......

Just an update on my resolution.     I went to the gym five days last week and I've lost 4lbs.  However, that is 4lbs of the 6lbs I put on over Christmas and New Year, so I'm not counting any weight loss until I have lost the 6lbs I put on - does that make sense?   Still I'm happy the healthy eating and exercise is working.  I'm going to an Aquaerobics class today, which I really enjoy and back to the gym tomorrow.  I have also been doing 40 minutes of Pilates and Yoga at home every morning.   Aren't I good?  LOL

I won't be posting a Flash Fiction on Friday because we're going on a jaunt for the weekend.     We're heading for Buckinghamshire on a coach.  We have a packed itinerary, including a visit to a brewery and winery which includes tasting, that won't do the diet any good will it?    Anyway just so you know I won't be arround at the weekend.   Hope you have a good one, I intend to.

Well done. That's much better than I'm doing. Though I did go for a swim before work today.

Well done Pearl! Fantastic stuff! I love swimming but the trouble is i bump into ex-pupils and I feel very awkward - especially in a bathing suit so I will stick to my wii! The weather has been dreadful but I am looking forward to my walks out with Freida too. I get weighed tonight - will keep you posted. Have a great weekend away - looking forward to meeting up sometime this year!

You GO, m'dear!

I am sooooooooo excited for you! And proud that you're committed.

I have a friend who is a Pilates teacher and she swears it's the best form of exercise and body shaping.

Have a great time on your brewery and wine visit. Can't wait to hear all about it!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Well a swim before work is a great start AJ!

No kids at the pool when I go Denise just ladies like me trying to lose weight. Good luck with your weigh in. I'm looking forward to meeting up with you too. x

I have been doing Pilates for years Nitebyrd but the Yoga only since my son let me borrow his Wii Fit.

I will Valerie ;)

I know Daryl and it's a lot easier than aerobics. LOL

Cheers Thom I'll try on both counts. ;)

Your friend is right Ron, Pilates is fantastic, I've been doing it for years. I'll tell you all about the brewery and winery next week. x

I hear you about wanting to get back to where you started first. You will be shopping for new clothes before too long, I think...

Have fun this weekend. I'm going to a booksigning for one of my writers' group members. Can't wait!

OH YES, you are doing good! And completely understandable to count the weight loss after losing the extra holiday pounds.

A brewery and winery sounds delightful. I'm sure you'll make up for the indulging when you get back. Enjoy. Looking forward to pictures.

Well done. I am struggling because wherever I go, there seems to be chocolate biscuits and the wrong things that are pressed into my hand. I will persist with it and the biscuits will eventually run out.LOL!
Have a good trip at the weekend.

I'm thinking one of the benefits of retirement might be time to exercise.

I'll keep trying, thanks Pam x

Your weekend sounds like fun too Julia :)

Maybe I will have to start again when I get back on Sunday Crystalchick but hopefully not. Still I'm going to enjoy myself.

Hounded by chocolate biscuits Maggie? How very dare they when you're on a diet! ;)

My health is really important to me Spiky but then so is enjoying myself - life isn't a rehearsal is it? ;)

Yeah but I'm enjoying it Mama Zen so it's doesn't see too bad. :)

I never felt like exercising when I was working SAW as it meant going to the gym or swimming after work. Now I'm retired I can go during the day and it seems so much easier. :)

We'll try Trav ;)

Thanks Tony :)

Will do Flowerpot x

Will be hitting the gym hard next week. Just got back from a cruise and I really don't want to know how much weight I have gained.

Hmmm. You could try a low calorie xmas next year but don't say anything. You know there are secret ways of making an xmas dinner less calorific. I wouldn't let on if I were you then probably nobody would notice.

Also desertes and sweets are a major problem I'm speaking from personal experinece. If you can cut them out for good and change your taste you'll have far fewer problems in future.

This is personal experience speaking sorry if it sounds a bit preachy but it really does work. The only diet I know that works is permanently changing your diet!

Yeah I know you weren't talking about dieting but it's half the solution as they say: "diet and exercise"!!
