Indian Summer.........

I'm off to Goa today for a true Indian Summer, so I won't be around for two weeks.

Don't hate me.

That's what I was supposed to be posting today but we've had to cancel the holiday.

This is what happened....

A gastroscopy saved MWM's life, in a manner of speaking! He suffers badly from reflux and has been taking medication for a few months. He has been scheduled to have an gastroscopy twice recently to check if the medication is working and for one reason or another has had to cancel the appointments. Last Monday it was scheduled again and he went. They wouldn't do the procedure because his BP was dangerously high and told him to see his own doctor, which he did last Wednesday. His doctor was extremely concerned and upped his medication immediately.  He's been on medication for high BP for many years.   Of course flying with high blood pressure is extremely dangerous and she advised he shouldn't take the flight so we have cancelled the holiday. The point is, if he hadn't gone for the gastroscopy we would have taken the flight oblivious of the danger and ANYTHING could have happened!

Someone up there is looking after him, thank goodness.

I am sorry you are missing your holiday, but I am overjoyed that you are not missing your husband. I added my prayer of thanks for the heavenly intervention to yours.

Akelamalu, I had wanted to wish you a pleasant trip, but you remain suspenseful and added the twist even in this situation!
Yes, we ought to be thankful, and wish him speedy improvement to his health

Things happen for the best, if only we realised it. Thank goodness MWM didn't go on that holiday. There's always another time, God willing. Sending prayers and hugs for you both.

Everything works out right in the end - even if we don't always think so at the time. Big hugs to you both.

Yes, someone up there is definitely looking after him.

So sorry to hear about your holiday, but as Nitebyrd shared, y'all will have many holidays together soon!

Sending LOTS of 'good energy' MWM's way...

X to you both!

I am thankful that your husband was OK. That must have been really frightening. I hope he is better soon. You don't want to take any chances with high blood pressure.

Hopefully, you can reschedule your trip another time.

Take care.

That was a close one! I hope the doc is able to get everything back under control so you can enjoy your holiday at a later date.

I'd rather hear about MWM still being with you than a holiday any day. Glad everything worked out--that is just frightening!!

Hugs to you both and here's to a holiday soon!!

well i have to say oh how lucky but really it is. i understand this well. it was last july when sarge had the procedure to see why he was anemic and it showed the cancer. if not for that he for sure would not be here today!

best wishes to him, and reiki!

smiles, bee

All will be well soon.

You can get a cheapie to Goa buying bucket flights, booking one night ahead and finding accommodation when you're there. Though I understand if that's not your style. It is possible to live like royalty in Goa for £10 a day, OK for £5 or less. Money goes a long way in India. The locals have hardly any.

Take care. I hope soon is v soon.

Of course you know all about simple procedures finding things of great importance Bee. We feel very lucky that something totally unrelated meant MWM didn't take a real risk.

We may look for another holiday in Goa once MWMs BP is sorted out and the doctor gives the go ahead for him to fly Gleds. The important thing is to get his BP sorted then we can think about hols. :)

akelamalu: I do believe that honey. I have been saved so many times by little things...too many to say they were each was a coincidence.

i think I have a guardian angel that watches over me...sounds silly but I'm alive and here.

good for your man sweetie. xxx
