Friday 55 Flash Fiction # 125 Grudge....

Facing each other the two men stared into each other's eyes.

Nowhere to run.

Nowhere to hide.

This is it, do or die, fears banished.

Launching themselves at each other, fists flailing, sweat and blood spattering.

A grudge match if ever there was one.

but legal because it takes place in a boxing ring - Sport!

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

Yeah, but there's a purse at the end which goes a long way in patching up those hard feelings.

LOL Good one. I must say I've never liked boxing. Seems so dumb to me but ooo the frustrations that you can take out. Well done my friend :) Have a great weekend :)

Boxing? Barbaric!

secret agent woman said...

To my way of thinking, no form of fighting is a sport. I agree with Jinsky - boxing is barbaric.

Good 55.
Barbarism at it's best but I won't get on the soapbox, I won't, I won't.

It can certainly get fierce in that ring. Nicely done.

Boxing has been a sport I never got into watch. I just don't see how it's fun to get punched. hehe

Excellent 55 Ake...
Don't listen to them, Laying the dead out in a casket for 4 days is barbaric, but they still do it!
Well, the Jews don't, but most everyone else does.
Excellent 55 my Dear
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End...G

You got me! (at first I thought it was a married couple ROFL)

Akelamalu said...

I hate to think about what goes through their minds Brian :(

Oh yes Buff :0

Me neither Bee, and MWM has never really been a fan of boxing either. :(

Yes, what is it with men John? ;)

Absolutely too violent Pam

Indeed it can Anthony!

I'm pleased you enjoyed it Ron

Thanks Bankerchick, boxing is not my cup of tea either.

I've never understood the attraction either Misty

Is that some kind of code Gleds?

Yes the cheering would just egg them on I think Alice :(

I take it you're a boxing fan G-man?

LOL do some married couples fight like that Susan????

Shrinky said...

Sport! Yup, I'm with you, I simply don't get how two people knocking lumps out of each other, can ever be considered fit entertainment (shrug), but it makes a great 55!

Travis Cody said...

I have never been a fan of boxing. This is a fine depiction of the tension right before a bout.

A Neat Final knock out blow!

Linda said...

Legal - yes; intelligent - I've never thought so! I've never quite gotten the concept of two guys hitting each other being great sport but I know a lot of people do!

Akelamalu said...

We're agreed on that Shrinky

I'm not a fan either Trav

Cheers Tony

Some people love it Linda,. to me it's just senseless.

Can you believe I used to watch boxing with my dad when I was a girl - because I liked it...? True story!

Donnetta said...

Very good, A!! And they call it sport. Hmm. D

Hmm...I am losing my mind ! I definately left a comment here yesterday ! Hmm...whatever, I just wanted you to know that I truly respect your creative writing abilities. Writing in exactly 55 words would be a challenge for me...I tend to be a bit wordy ! Keep on writing and I will keep on reading !
