Youngest son
Dan's Fi-ver is bringing Kai and Nathaniel over for lunch today whilst Fi is working, so we get to play with the grandkids! Kai's favourite food is Yorkshire Pudding, so that's what we have to have, regardless of whatever else is on the menu. I taught MWM to make Yorkshire Pudding years ago, before I went into hospital for a(nother) operation so he could take over making Sunday lunch whilst I was laid up. He is now the MASTER Yorkshire Pudding Maker - far better than me, so it's his job now (good ruse eh girls?).
Entertainmentwise I found this at Lettuce's blog yesterday - SCREAMING BEANS - have a look it's literally a scream.
By way of a change a rare slice of sunshine on Friday got me out in the garden. Here's what's blooming at the moment. Hope your Sunday is good.

Mmmmm....I love yorkshire pudding! None for us today, we're having pork so apple sauce instead!
Btw, thanks for the award but not sure that I know how to collect it or how to pass any on!!!!
headless chicken
Mmm Pork and apple sauce - lovely!
If you right click on the award, then click on 'save as' and save it somewhere on your computer you can then upload it into a post about the award. Hope that helps.
Lovely plants and flowers. My nastursiums drowned in the pots this year! :-(
Love the blooms- they seem to have fared well in the rain, huh? The foxglove is one of my favorites. And the passion flower is gorgeous. Do you use the nasturtiums in salads?
I've always wanted an English Garden- but, here, all I get are stupid orange daylilies (yuk) and weedy-looking blooms like the black-eyed Susan's. I've tried desperately to keep hybrid delphinium- to no avail.
I've told you that your garden inspires mine. Too bad we don't have your climate though.
I've never had Yorkshire Pudding, I shall have to find someone that knows how to make it and give it a go one of these days!
Thanks for the lovely award, I shall have to pay it forward once I get a chance to catch up!
Your garden looks just lovely!!
misslionheart what a shame about your nasturiums, but I'm sure you'll try again right?
we've got a bit of sun here - excuse me while I pass out. Your garden's looking a lot healthier than mine! My poor plants just look drowned...
Thanks gewels, yes everything has survived the rain except the hanging baskets. Believe it or not they were as dry as a bone when we got back off holiday, even though I had a watering system for them! Don't ask me how!!!
I have used nasturtiums in salads but not often.
lovely flowers and i had yorkshire pudding on a carnival ship, it was wonderful!
smiles, bee
You've never had Yorkshire Pudding Linda??
Have a go yourself here's MWM's recipe.
4 fluid ounces of Whole Milk
3 large tablespoons Plain flour
1 whole egg
1 egg white
seasoning
Whisk all together and leave to stand whilst oven is heating up Gas Mark 6
We make 12 in a bun tin, you probably call it a muffin tin, but you can make a large one and put cooked sausage in it "Toad in the Hole".
Put a small amount of lard (cooking fat) in each bun hole and when smoking hot pour in the batter about a quarter of the way up each bun hole.
Bake for 20 - 25 minutes until risen and golden brown.
Let me know if you try it what you think. Enjoy.
We've had a gorgeous day here flowerpot. We've been out in the garden with the grandchildren for most of the afternoon! Apparently the forecast for the coming week is drier and warmer!!!
Ah Bee glad you enjoyed your yorkshire pudding. MWM likes one after lunch with jam and cream on - delicious!
Yorkshire pudding and gravy - bliss!
The French beat us hands down in most culinary departments but good roast beef and Yorkshire pudding or steak and kidney pie hold their own in my opinion. (Son of a Yorkshireman shining through!).
You're like me Akela; the extra egg white in the yorkies makes all the difference. Great slideshow...blooming lovely :o) Like the variagated nasurtiums; did you know you can pickle the seeds and use them in the place of capers?
Rx
You are so right dumdad nothing can beat Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding!
Yep the extra egg white does make all the difference Ruth. I didn't know that about nasturtium seeds, thanks for telling me. :)
Beautiful blooms, You must have a lovely garden. I love Yorkshire Pudding but I haven't had it for a while. When I use to cook I did make toad in a hole for the kids once from a magazine. Turned out very tasty. I didn't realize I was making Yorkshire Pudding!
My garden is not as nice as some but better than others bankerchick. :)
Yorkshire Pudding is just batter when all said and done, very versatile! :)
Yorkies goes with any thing! As a Grandma you should know that!
ab slide show & we just loved those Beans . . . .lol
Remember they now have a nom de plume - "grumpy puddings"...
Hope it was a good day!!
BTW you rock too. Have responded at last! Thank you for the award!
I have never had yorkshire pudding but I did have my beloved yorkshire terrior...lol
Love your garden! Beatiful photos. Reading about El Gouna - I wanna visit it now!
It's not a good idea to play screaming beans at 4 in the morning with the volume up full!
I'll have to try the extra egg white, I think.
The garden looks lovely by the way!
Yorkies are delicious on their own even shaz. :)
Ah yes, 'grumpy puddings' now, I forgot dan's fi-ver x
You're welcome Sally. :)
You didn't eat him I hope Catch?
Thanks Bella, I hope you get to El Gouna, I can recommend it. :)
missu you keep forgetting to turn the speakers down don't you? :)
I love your slide show and your garden is very restful, even as I take a virtual stroll here at my desk at work.
Thank you Julia, I'm glad you've enjoyed it. :)
