Hello............

Our telephone just rang, a little voice said

"Hello".

"Hello sweetiepie" I said to my 3 year old grandson Kai.

"Where's Granddad?" asks Kai

"He's here, do you want to speak to him darling?" says I

"Yes"

"Okay I'll put him on" I hand the phone over to MWM.

"Hello Kai how are you?" asks MWM

"I have a Bob the Builder work bench Granddad" informs Kai

"You do, can I play with it next time I visit you please?" says MWM

"Okay, can I speak to Nanna now?" MWM hands back the phone to me.

"Hello sweetiepie, I love you" I say

"I love you too, Bye" says Kai.

End of conversation! Aren't they wonderful!

My Knee
Tuesday 20th March
A wonderful night's sleep last night, didn't wake up for my dose of painkillers until 7.30 - 3 hours late! I feel much better today.

Funnily enough, that sounds like the conversation that I had with the same little boy...he knows when he's conveyed his message!!

When I talk to my nephew the conversation goes like this:

Me: Hi, how are you?
Nephew: Fine.
Me: That's good.
Nephew: Love you, bye.

josh - Oh it will come soon enough, once they start they just don't stop!

Nik - they only need a few words to melt your heart don't they?

Oh yes, they're the most wonderful! Some of the pearls that have come from my kids' mouths... just makes you want to hug them for their fresh take on the world, doesn't it!

I love the new ticker - only 29 days left? Cool! And even better, that you aren't needing so many painkillers - you'll be up doing the Can-Can any day now! :-D

I love thos conversations. Sometimes I wish we all took a hint from the kids in our life. Say what you want to say and then say goodbye.

I am happy to hear that you and your knee had a good nigth

Congrats on the progress with your knee! I was so glad to get off of the Vicodin when my back was bad, I can appreciate what you're going through!

Can't wait for my grandson to be old enough to call and chat with me!

Sweet, short and to the point. haha. I remember when Nick was about three or four, and he would call and want to talk, he would say what he wanted to say, then he would say, well that is all I have to say, By. And hang up......but he didn't like to talk on the phone.

All of my grandkids are Calif, except Andrew who is in Texas.....they don't call as often as I would like.

Yes Dave it would cut the phone bill by half wouldn't it?! Thanks for the good thoughts re my knee.

Hi Masgblog thanks for dropping by. I thought maybe it was just me couldn't get through to Skittles Place there must be a glitch somewhere!

I'm trying to cut down on the painkillers gradually Linda, I know I have to come off them at some point. You'll be in seventh heaven when your little ones start calling you up to say 'I love you Grandma'!

Nea it's such a shame yours don't live closer or phone more often. I'm so lucky that I see my grandchildren at least once a week and they do like to telephone.
