Friday 55 Flash Fiction # 138 Gotcha...

He sat watching, waiting.

He'd made a mental note of how long they'd been there.

There were four of them, he'd get them before they knew what had happened.

Checking his watch, he moved quickly.

He only had a couple of minutes to

slap parking tickets on the cars that had run out of time.

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

Good one. I think they slap ticket on them before they expire.

They really do issue those tickets quickly, don't they? Great 55!

I don't know how you do it, but your endings ALWAYS get me!!!

"slap parking tickets on the cars that had run out of time."

BRILLIANT!

And I'll be thinking of this post the next time I see a meter maid giving a ticket - HA!

Have a great weekend, m' dear!

As far as revenue-generating schemes go (and that's EXACTLY what this is, make no mistake), parking tickets are even more egregious than speeding tickets.

At least with speeding tickets there's a modicum of moral authority because somebody could get in a wreck. Who's life is endangered if somebody has their car parked five minutes longer?

Funny 55, Akelamalu!

Thanks Valerie I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I've never had a parking ticket AJ, thankfully. ;)

Ah you've been caught then Brian? :(

They do indeed Belinda!

Haha got you again eh Ron? Thanks hon. x

Got you too eh Daryl?

Cheers Casdok :)

I swear they write the tickets before the meter expires and slap them on at the exact same time the red flag snaps up.

That is typical, isn't it. getting ready to pounce.

I can SO see a parking officer doing this sort of thing! I swear they get some evil pleasure out of writing tickets!

LOL...Oh I've met that dude before as well. Only once mind you and once was enough. Very well done. Have a great Friday :)

I got threatened with a ticket once for putting coins in an expired meter...because it wasn't mine. :)

Seems being nice can cost you, unless you can explain kindness to strangers. Happy weekend!

I think you're right Quilly!

Yes typical Maggie!

I agree Linda some of them are sadistic. :(

Oh you've been caught eh MamaZen?

Once is more than enough Thom and Cheshire Wife!

That's terrible Hope, being threatened with a ticket for helping someone! :0

Thanks Snowelf and I'm pleased you enjoyed all the photos.

Sometimes I wonder if they ARE on commission Jannie.

Oh you should have stuck your tongue out at her Spiky. I'm glad you got there before she got you! ;)

Yep, they do it here too Joanny. That's so good of you helping other people defy the traffic wardens. :)

But it's so mean Cloudia!
