Friday 55 Flash Fiction #137 The Meeting....

They had been emailing back and forth for months.

She was pushing to meet, he not so sure.

She was beautiful - the photograph told him so.

She said he was handsome - the photo told her so.

It was arranged - 12 noon at Euston underneath the clock.

Neither recognised the other - from the photographs they'd sent.

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

Oh! How come they did not recognize each other? Hmmm, too bad.. Well, your 55 is very effective, it carried me away! LOL. Nice piece as usual :-)

Hahaha! I suspect there is often a lot of truth behind this, too!

So often the case, me thinks.

Valerie said...

Yeah, right, that was definite proof that people are often not what they seem.

Yes I've heard of this happening a lot! In fact there was a piece in the Times several weekends ago written by a bloke complaining of just this!

LOL...I do think this happens quite a bit sadly. Very nice 55 my friend :)

...and how true this fiction could be!!! Excellent.

My 55 is a double whammy this week, two for the price of one. Of course, as always, you need to scroll down below my Friday's Show n Tell.

The link is HERE I'd love to have you stop by for a visit.

Smiles and chuckles at this one! And I wonder what percentage of e-mail love meetings go like this?? :) A LOT, I bet!

I love the image of 12 noon underneath the Euston clock, so timeless and evocative a meeting place!

LOL, I just knew when you said "the photo told him so" that they had sent something they weren't.

My 55 is here down the page a bit.

They didn't recognise each other because they hadn't sent photos of themselves but of someone else Sashindoubutsu.

I think it probably happens a lot Shrinky!

Me think so too Anthony ;)

That's so true Valerie

I imagine it's more common than we think Flowerpot

Way too often Thom, I think.

I guess if you're honest it's a good a way as any to meet someone AJ. I'm glad it worked out for you. :)

No start at all Forever Lost as they didn't recognise each other! LOL

Indeed it could Hootin'Anni!

Just goes to prove it's never a good idea to lie is it Brian?

Indeedy Tony!

I think each was hoping the other had been truthful Pam LOL

Unfortunately Bee ;)

I bet it happens a lot too Ron!

Thanks Linda, I hope you have a great Friday too!

Cheers Eric :)

Glad you enjoyed it Jannie :)

Ah you guessed the punchline Alice, well done.

It was never meant to be!

Sounds like the meeting should have happened back in 1995 when the photographs did.

akelamalu; Ah hahahahaha. That is so funny and I will bet true in many cases. My brother would tell me that...he would say...you change each time I see you. Different hair cut...different hair color. I'd be thin one time and next...pregnant. I could put on a pair of sunglasses and he wouldn't know me...

as for him...can't miss him...he is the loudest person in any group :) hehehe

this 55 FFF is funny honey.

have a great weekend. xxx

It's good to change your appearance occasionally but I think these two posted photos of someone entirely different Spiky! LOL

Ah but he recognised you SAW ;)

I think it is Cloudia ;)

That's a lovely story Quilly - honesty is always the best policy. :)
