Friday 55 Flash Fiction #124 Superstitious....

Charlie was very superstitious.

No new shoes on the table or broken mirrors for him.

The thought of putting an umbrella up in the house

or not greeting a magpie horrified him.

Hence his dismay when a black cat ran across his path

as he made his getaway from the bank job he'd just pulled.

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

Love your new theme my friend. It's real nice. And your story is just wonderful. :) Makes me think of the Stevie Wonder song Superstition :) So clever. :)

I think it is good luck to own a black cat since we have one. Ha!

I enjoyed the twist at the end and in only 55 words. You are talented.

Greeting a magpie? That's one I've never heard of. I wonder if I should start saying hello to the blackbirds.

Oh that's clever! What a great idea. Of course - if you had another 55 words you could discuss that in some parts of the UK the luck depends on which way the cat was going! (left to right is good - right to left is bad....)

Keep up the good work

You realize that you keep surprising us, even when we're already expecting a twist. It's no small feat.
