The boy was scared
The cupboard door was tight shut, he couldn't get out.
Sitting in the dark, wishing he'd done as he he'd been told,
He heard his father approaching.
The door opened.
"I know, I shouldn't have been searching for my present, then I wouldn't have locked myself in"
he told his father.
Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

Oh my....giggles. Does this bring back memories of our kids long ago, or what?
Sweet.
Here is my Flash 55 for the week. [scroll down below my Show n Tell feature]
Have a wonderful Friday.
it was a very nice read. But since I am a 14 year-old, I kinda approached it more with the child's perspective rather than the dad. I know that sneaking out and stuff can be dangerous, but if we scrupulously follow the rules, then we are gonna be adults the moments we are born! Also, when a parent tells us something and we just obey, we feel the whole thing is unfair, but if we go there, do what we want and something bad goes on, we are NEVER gonna repeat it again. But, sometimes it can get outta hand, and then the safest thing would be to just follow the orders.
My 55 is up!
Ah, the impatience of kids.
oh experience is a harsh teacher isn't it?
wow i think being locked in was punishment enough!! great 55 is this a real story from a memory?
Kids will always be inquisitive, which is not always a bad thing. It's a challenge to keep them safe without squelching their curiosity.
Oh, how cute Akelamalu!
And what's really funny is that little boy sounded just like me when I was a kid - HA!

Funny, I never wanted to know what was in a gift until it was time to open.
And my friends all thought that was odd. ;) Nicely done!

Thanks Evalinn :)
Glad you liked it Cloudia x
I bet there was some yowling in your house Trav LOL
I actually did this when I was little. My little dog and I crawled into a kitchen cupboard and got locked in. My parents heard me calling for "Daddy", but they couldn't see me anywhere. They finally found me sitting in the cupboard with my dog in my lap.
