He was being tortured.
He sniffed as cooking smells drifted tantalizingly around his nostrils.
He'd been in this room now for three hours.
He'd not been allowed food or drink.
He'd had no breakfast and he was starving now.
He looked at the clock, another thirty minutes
to the end of the exam and lunchtime.
Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

I look so forward to these every week. You do such a wonderful job. A student. Who would have thought. Love it.
Oh, I remember those exams. Hated 'em. Nicely done.
I remember those experiences!
You got me on that one. I thought he was a patient waiting for a blood test and thus not allowed to eat until it was done.
A great 55.
Yours was the first I ever saw and so it was and is the model for mine.
Thanks.
Very timely- my older son had his last finals yesterday.
Ah yes, I remember this scenario quite well!
We dragons don't take exams. We don't even go to school as such.
But we do understand hunger.
Great 55.
Ours is up here

I remember taking this exam to test what level I was at when I started at a new school in the seventh grade. I was sitting in the library and it was summer just before school started and they had they AC cranking and I was FREEZING cold. So cold I could barely concentrate and I hurried through the test just so I could get out of there. I think I'd rather be hungry any day. ;)

Me too Anthony! :(
I don't think it's something you ever forget Nick!
Ah the twist got you Dr. John. I'm very flattered that I was instrumental in you joining in Flash Fiction because you x
Year 11 students at my school are in the midst of their GCSE's at the moment Citizen, which prompted me to write this.
They were torturous weren't they Linda!
I would imagine Dragons are ALWAYS hungry Fandango! LOL
I'd rather be cold than warm and I definitely wouldn't like to be hungry Snowelf! :)
Ah yes, that's another problem during exams Daryl. If someone really HAS to go they have to be escorted!
Not sure but I think they have to stay for the duration Buff
Some exams last too long don't they Bee especially when you're hungry?

Ah yet another view on what it might have been Ron! :)
Flash Fiction 56 Spiky? NO probs I'd just delete one less word - you see I write a story then delete words that are not necessary until I have the required number! :)
I've got my fingers crossed for Jacob Marmie - I feel sorry for all the kids going through hell with their exams at the moment!
Unhappy memories eh Ciara?:(
