Friday 55 Flash Fiction # 41 Fountain of Youth (& Doodle Week Day 5)

Fountain of Youth

The layers were peeled away,

white shiny skin underneath glistened seductively.

Sliding into the cool, pale liquid.

A liquid which would preserve the beauty keep it succulent and juicy.

Others were already in there, swimming around lazily,

Soaking up the liquid specifically designed for this very purpose.

Their life extended,

Pickled Onions in a jar.

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

Have you been taking part in Doodle Week?

You still can.

All you have to do is post your doodle on today's theme of AIR, go here and put your name on Mr. Linky (so people can come look) and visit the other participants.

Go on you know you want to.

Here's my AIR doodle.

i see your back to your comical 55 self! :) i've been enjoying the doodles, too. you've been getting good w the paintshop type program there. i'm up, too. 55 that is..not a doodle. hehe

for once I got the onion straight away - perhaps a few brain cells are working after all!

I was right on top of things with the onion, too! I think it was the layers that tipped me off. I didn't guess the pickling part, though I suppose you made it perfectly clear, talking about preserving liquid, made just for that purpose. Great 55!

I am off to read more about Doodle Week. It looks cute, though I can't draw at all, so I'll probably just watch.

Doodle week is almost over Bee, you could do all seven doodles on Sunday! Glad you liked the 55. :)

Yes I thought a lighthearted one this week would be good Ciara. Thanks for your praise on the doodles. x

If there was such a lotion you and I would have been using it Queenie!

Oh you guessed Flowerpot:)

Thanks Smarmoofus, glad you enjoyed the 55 and the doodles. :)

Thanks Lime, I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. :)

Hey if pickle jiuces would make be look younger I'd use them Marmie! Glad you liked it hon. x

Welcome to my second home DKTD I'm pleased you enjoyed your visit. :)

You're the second person to say I looked like Jodie Foster when I was younger Sue. Glad you liked the doodle.

Ah Ron, I'm so pleased you didn't rumble it first off!

Pickled Donnetta, surely you've not been drinking? ((wink))

Succulent is a juicy word Trav ;)

Don't tell me you've never had a pickled onion g-man?

Strumpet said...

I think the only time I've ever had a pickled onion was in a Bloody Mary.

If I recall correctly, it was yummy.

They are different from cocktail onions, yes?

Quite a seductive 55.

You tease.
