Finally.....

Our brilliant son has just got his exam results for the MLP.
Besides his First Class Hons in Law he has now achieved 6 A's and a Distinction in his final exam.
He is now Daniel Naylor LLB (Hons), Master in Law & Practice (Distinction).
Come September he will start a two year training contract with a firm of solicitors, after which he will be a fully qualified solicitor himself.
Congratulations Dan you deserve it after four years of hard work.
He couldn't have done it without his partner, Fiona, who has worked so hard to keep everything together whilst he has been studying, so we give huge thanks to her.

Oh well done! First class in anything is tough but first class in Law is very difficult. (I did a very small amount of law a very long time ago and it was extremely restricted to the requirements of publishing......) Large glass of something bubbly called for, I think.

I know Bee, we are so proud of him.

I am indeed Pam, especially as he went back to University at the age of 32 to do it. :)

Cheers Lady's Life. He has to complete a 2 year training contract with a solicitor before he can decide what branch of Law he would like to specialise in.

Thanks Sandi. I don't know who Paula Deene is so I had to Google her and her son. There is a slight resemblance.

He is a clever guy Emmie, takes after his Dad. Thanks honey. x

Thankyou Nat x

Wow! That's almost as long as it takes to become a psychiatrist! Only psychiatrists can't conveyance land, get you a divorce or alter your name by statutory declaration..!

Congratulations to Dan! That is a lot of work, I know! Mrs. Jim helped us keep things together while I did that. We met when I was less than half-way through my four years.

I too have the degree, most of us here get a Juris Doctorate (in Law). I never practices full time but taught Law and other Business courses for 22 years at our local two-year community college.

Law is an interesting career, I know he will like it. Caveat: not every lawyer gets rich!

Actually, I just found out, psychiatric training is twice as lengthy. (But half as useful, like we always knew...)

I could have been a lawyer, if I'd done the right course and stuck with it. I'm good at law. Which I only found out AFTER A levels and school but before the degree course I'd already got accepted on, annoyingly enough... But even though I find medicine fascinating I just do not have the right sort of brain to arrange pingpong balls on atoms, which is what you need to be able to do to understand medicine. That and higher maths... ugh. So I never could have been a psychiatrist, even though I ended up needing one!

Where does he want to work? At a country family solicitors type place? Or some huge big city law firm where you get to specialize..?

Has he thought of doing international law? Surely there's a 4tune in that!!
