Friday 55 Flash Fiction #133 A new life......

The promise of a job and a better life was a fantastic opportunity,

Especially for a poor, young country girl.

She told her friends about her prospective new life abroad, they were envious.

Her mother had taken the advance on her wages and waved her off....

to a life of prostitution in a foreign country.

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

An excellent reminder of things that need to be put right in our world.

Ouch. Sadly, it happens a lot. Sometimes we need reminding about other people's misfortunes

So often true - and tragic.

Nothing could be worse than to be of human bondage. A very good 55 with an important message.

Well, not exactly the sort of ending one would like but definitely the sort of ending one excepts from our Akelamalu!

That's the saddest part Dumdad, that it is true for so many. :(

Thanks Thom

Cheers Scots Lass :)

Glad you liked it Mrs N

Yes Valerie, these things do need to be put right.

We have much to be thankful for don't we Morning AJ?

Tragic but true - you're right Anthony

Human bondage is a terrible thing Pam :(

I have seen the girls in the bars in Thailand Brian and they so need help - I commend you for doing what you can. x

Not an ending anyone would wish for Linda but sadly one that happens all to often. :(

I was just checking out a place to visit in Albania and was reading about the problems they have regarding kidnapping and girls being taken into prostitution in other countries. So damn sad...you would think in this day and age...Provacotive 55! :/

Yes true unfortunately Cloudia

Sadly it does Jingle :(

You're right Lulda, it's ridiculous it still happens in this day and age.

Thanks Ron, I wish it was fiction and not a reality.

Cheers G, I try. ;)

If only that story weren't true for so many girls! And the envious ones back home have no idea how lucky they are -- what a good but sad 55.

Maggie May said...

I'm afraid that that is the truth for many unfortunate girls. Sad though it may be.
