Saturday Wordzzle # 20

The idea is, every week Raven (View From A Raven's Nest) gives you between 8 and 10 words/phrases and you have to create a small but coherent paragraph using every one of them and the same with the mini challenge. You can do either, both or a megawordzzle using all the words, or even all three, it's up to you, you can post them on your blog or email them to Raven. If you join in go to Raven's and put your name on the Mr. Linky so other participants can come visit you.

Here are my efforts - complete with my doodles.

This Week's Ten Word Challenge is: handy, operation, gratitude, parallel bars, the color purple, manic depressive, Puget Sound, fragmentary, perpetual motion, secretive

Tamara lounged on the deck of the yacht, enjoying the perpetual motion of the water on Puget Sound. Her thoughts were fragmentary, as you might imagine of a manic depressive, but she looked at Carlos in gratitude, he’d shown her a different life to the one she had led working at ‘Parallel Bars’ in New York as a lap dancer. Peering at herself in the handy mirror, she looked at the scar on her cheek, it was usually pale but today it looked the colour purple. The scar was from a knife wound inflicted on her by a particularly nasty customer at the bar, luckily for her Carlos had been on hand to rescue her and he’d looked after her ever since. She would have to get ready soon Carlos liked her to dress for dinner and had provided her with the wherewithal to buy only the best in designer wear. They had guests for dinner tonight, though Carlos had been secretive about who they were, no doubt all would be revealed later. As Tamara teased her hair into a soft style which covered the scar she heard the sound of a motor launch approaching, that would be the guests she thought. Picking up her purse she made her way up to the deck where Carlos was greeting their guests.

“Tamara, come and meet Dr. Zinfandel"

“I’ve heard that name before’ thought Tamara.

“Tamara, Dr. Zinfandel is here to arrange your operation, he’s a cosmetic surgeon.”

“Oh thankyou Carlos” she cried “planting a huge kiss on his eager lips”.

Maybe she could get her boobs done at the same time!

And for the Mini Challenge: sympathetic, filet of sole, mysterious stranger, elephantine, music

Music fans at Glastonbury this year were treated to superb performances by ‘Mysterious Stranger’, ‘Elephantine’ and ‘Filet of Sole’ unfortunately the weather wasn’t very sympathetic to the event as it poured down with rain the whole time.

Megawordzzle

Cedric, a manic depressive from Puget Sound, spent his life in perpetual motion practising on the parallel bars in his handy home gym, it was the only thing that could lift his moods. Cedric was now 30 years old and had never been the outgoing type, but his mood swings meant he wasn’t very good company so girlfriends had been few and far between. He was a bit of a movie buff and had a huge collection of DVDs, his favourite film was ‘The Colour Purple’ though he could answer quiz questions on virtually any movie you cared to mention. His movie watching wasn’t confined to watching DVDs though, when he wasn’t in the gym you would find him at the cinema. It was there that he met a mysterious stranger who, as it turned out, was very sympathetic to his condition and she admired Cedric’s physique which was toned and muscular from all the gym work. Cedric began meeting Adrianne weekly and, over the months, got to know a lot about her, though she was very secretive at first. He discovered that her favourite food was filet of sole, she loved music and at one time she had been of elephantine proportions, but she’d had a gastric band operation which had enabled her to slim down to a size any model would envy. Gradually Adrianne and Cedric fell into a comfortable relationship and Cedric abandoned his parallel bars in favour of visits to restaurants and Jazz clubs with Adrianne. Cedric’s gratitude to Adrianne for lifting him from his depression knew no bounds so he asked her to marry him, unfortunately Adrianne interest in him had become fragmentary. Cedric had put a lot of weight on since he’d abandoned the gym and Adrianne couldn’t abide fat people.

I love "filet of sole" as a band name - that's hilarious! That Adrianne is a bit of a jerk, huh? I hope Cedric dumps her!

...And I've been enjoying your Motown play list. :)

Poor Cedric! Ain't that the irony of life. These are great as always. Your mini was a masterpiece of brevity and simplicity. It is interesting how we parallel at times and yet also remain decidedly unique. Great wordzzling. Love the illustrations too.

Great stories this week. You are turning out to be something of a romantic and I like that in my Wahinis.

That Adrianne is a bitch Ciara, I'm sorry I invented her! ;)

Glad you like the music Clarence and I'm sure Cedric and Adrianne are no more!

Cheers David :)

Precisely Bee! My doodles have nothing on yours honey!

We do parallel don't we Raven but great minds think alike!

Oh I'm definitely a romantic Rich, you just ask MWM! ;)

I'm impressed with the mini challenge - all the words perfectly done in a very short paragraph - nicely done.

your talent for twists at the end really shined through in the mega

I love "the Parallel Bars" as a strip club - brilliant lol

and I'm thrilled that Tamara is getting her scar fixed along with new boobs. Let's hope Dr. Zinfandel isn't a drunk.

I see a new set of parallel bars in Cedric's future. Poor guy.

Hopefully Tamara's opperation will be an "uplifting" experience for her.

I would probalby be okay with a Dr. Zinfandel, but not a Dr. Budweiser. ;-)

And Cedric needs to get away from Adrianne. She's not a very nice person!

Bravo! All three nicely done. I had to giggle at Dr. Zinfandel, that was very creative, now I hope he gets creative with Tamara's boobs and gets rid of that nasty scar.

Poor Cedric, Adrianne wasn't very nice to him. She should know better being in that position herself at one time.

Loved how you weaved your stories.

Hugs,
Kimmie

These are great! And I think it's cool that people are now doing three wordzzles a week...don't think I've got the time to do that, but I'm certainly enjoying when others do it! Keep up the great work!

Adrianne's final thoughts reminded me of my old, uh, "friend" Clair, except she had already that that operation done.

Akelamalu said...

Why thank you Carletta :)

Oh no Dianne, Dr Zinfandel is the best money can buy! ;)

Yes poor Cedric has to back to working out Jeff :(

Adrianne is not a nice person Kimmie :(

Thanks Kim I do enjoy writing them.

I guess Clair wasn't a very nice person either Nick? :(

Akelamalu, didn't get to do Wordzzle this week - was in Boston for the holiday weekend. But I'm back now and getting back into the swing of things... Good wordzzle as usual! Thanks so much for the great music, too! Midnight Train to Georgia...love it! :)

Claire had a lot of potential, along with a knock-‘em-dead body. Unfortunately, she was/is (?) a manipulator and con artist. If she used her intelligence to create a good life for herself and her kids rather than to figure out how to rip off folks, she would be a neat human being. Unfortunately, to my knowledge she continues to center her life on what she considers to be “easy money.” The last I heard about her, she was in jail in Arizona serving time for embezzlement. Sad.

She's an opportunist Anndi! ;)

I missed your wordzzle Teach, still given a choice between a weekend away and doing a wordzzle I know which I'd choose! :)

Oh dear, good that she's out of your life Nick :(

Thanks Acey, you too honey. x

Your mind is amazing. How you give Tamara a history as a lapdancer at a place called ‘Parallel Bars’ and then turn around an have Cedric practice on his in a home gym … simply amazes me. Did she need or just want a boob job? Poor Cedric and shame on Adrianne!

Love your doodles too. What program do you use to create them?
Well done as always ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

I'm please you enjoyed it Sandy :)

Thanks Tisha x

Yes Tamara is pleased Pu2b2!

Aw thanks Storyteller you're very kind. Tamara just wants a boob job because someone else is paying Storyteller. I use Paint to doodle.

Oh well...revenge after a few years:

Adrianne, now fat and blotchy (time for another gastric band operation) looking for a rich sucker to pay for her gastric band operation runs into this TDH dude. Wonder of wonders - this is Cedric. He reinvented himself after she dumped him and became a bigshot musician who's songs had all the teenagers putting up his posters in their room. And this time after all th wining and dining, and non-subtle hints from Adrianne, he dumped her for Britney Spears.

That would be a great finale smm!
