Friday 55 Flash Fiction # 21 The Letter

The letter

Maggie opened the letter.

“Maggie, I’m sorry I didn’t have the courage to tell you face to face” it read.

“I had to leave, I didn’t have a choice”.

“I’d known for a while, it was inevitable”.

Maggie’s eyes filled with tears

“I’m sorry I died and left you, always remember that I love you”.

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

You TOTALLY got me on this one,
Akelamalu!!!

However, I didn't find it sad. To me, it felt more like "Dark Comedy"...but you know MY sense of humor, don't you!?!?

You are SOOOO wonderful with these!!! Thank you for sharing.

Have a FAB weekend, dear lady.

I'm so used to your "Flash Fiction" having a humourous twist that I wasn't expecting that one today!

Very well written even if it is sad.

That is quite a talent you have, to write a comprehensive piece in only 55 words. I have read some of your others and they are very good.

I love writing but could not do it in 55 words. I write like I talk - too much!

Akelamalu said...

Odat ((hug)) x

Thankyou Cath, you should give it a try it's easier than you think! :)

I love how you accent your 55 with such beautiful photo imagery.

And such a sad 55.

Sad because it's words are powerful.

I know everyone has used this word already, 'sad.'

But, it is sad, because Maggie is sad.

But, in the end it's sort of happy.

He left her wanting to be happy.

To know that.

It's gorgeous.

Thanks for comin' by mine.

Be well, Ake.

Akelamalu said...

Ah, you understood exactly what I was trying to convey Strumpet, thankyou. :)

Sandi McBride said...

I'm going to give this a try...I promise...once I figure out what you're doing, lol!
