What makes you happy?
If you want to play along here's what to do:
Please answer today's question on your own blog, any time until next weekend. Please link to this blog (or to this post) just so I can follow the progress of the discussion.
What makes me happy......
- Seeing MWM's face last thing at night and first thing in the morning makes me the happiest.
- Seeing my sons and playing with my grandchildren always cheers me whatever mood I'm in.
- Going for a long walk - something I can now enjoy again.
- Sunshine always brings a smile to my face.
- Going on holiday makes me happy as I love visiting different places.
- People remembering my birthday by sending a card makes me happy, I'm never bothered about getting presents a card is always enough - it says I remembered you!
- Enjoying a lovely meal and conversation with friends is a happy time.
- Sharing Christmas Day lunch with all the family.
- Getting my hands dirty in the garden then sitting back and surveying the result.
- RETIRING FROM WORK will make me estatic!

I've been thinking of you today and wondering how your day was going. Hope it's been smooth. Remember, retirement gets closer every day!
Not long to go, speak soon..
A wonderful list....cherish 1 to 9 and roll on #10...:o)
Aw thanks correspondent, it wasn't nearly as bad as I'd thought it would be, so I'm going back again tomorrow! :)

Great list :) you and Mrs N are inspirations!
Why thank you cg, what a lovely thing to say. x
G'day Akelamalu,
A lovely, heart-warming response. Like you, I enjoy getting my hands dirty in the garden!
Keep smiling

Good reasons to be happy. Hope today went well x x x
It's so satisfying isn't it David? :)
Today was a lot better than I expected Shaz thanks. x
I just wanted to drop by and say I browsed the Kit story. I think it is so incredibly wonderful that your dad asked so many questions and wrote his mom's story. I really wish I would've thought to do something like that for my great-grandparents. What a wonderful legacy.
Ahh Akeamalu.
Just catching up.
Glad to hear today was ok.
I found going back after 6 months maternity leave a bit scary, but 10 months, well, you've done it.
We won't forget you, and we'll keep visiting however few and far between your posts become.
I've a feeling you'll find the time though.
Blogging is kind of addictive.
:-)
Sunshine always lifts my mood.
Spending time with my husband at the summer log cabins we go to always makes me peaceful and happy. Going to a wonderful concert and out with friends. AND petting my cats! (Well that makes them happy too!)
I thought I'd visit you as I see you almost everywhere I go! I'm a semi-retired teacher of Gr. 1-8 in Canada.
Not bad! We all deserve a little happiness now and again...
It's always the simple things in life that makes us happy, isn't it? I'm also happy when my family enjoys the dinners that I made for them every evening.
Great list, and so good to review what is wonderful in your life!
ehm...why not retire earlier since you don't really enjoy working? :)
a good one - we all need to remember reasons to be happy!
I'm happy when I see other people happy.
And now I'm happy after reading your list! :)
Love the last one!
Made me giggle!
Sorry for my total crapness in regards to commenting!

Thankyou Dottie, I'm touched by what you say about KIT. x
You're right Jo I'm finding it very difficult to keep away! :)
We need more of it Pauline, then we'll always be happy :)

Why thank you cs :)
If I could afford to I would Elween, believe me!
We do Flowerpot, as we tend to think about the things that make us unhappy more don't we?
So nice that I've made you happy Dan x
Glad you had a giggle Sally :)
You tell us off for lurking Claire you naughty girl! :)
I don't think I'd know where to begin- it doesn't take a lot to make me happy. Sometimes it's just the simple pleasure of seeing the wild flowers along the roadside or a lone eagle against a brilliant blue sky. Or learning that I got to the bank before someone's check did!
Hi! babe having big probs getting to bella, got locked out of my own blog (shock, horror), will have to ring you when Math here to try and sort it....
how was going back to work?
I have to agree, retirement
sounds like a very happy
proposition... ah, if only
my going on holiday means seeing
my grandchildren as they live
2500 miles away... as much as I
would love to get out at a new
airport, holding my babies is
so special... oh dear, I've
started crying; but I am happy
really I am.
hope I'm not too late sending
in my nursery rhyme answers; they
prove I never really grew up
lotsa luv ann xxxxx
p.s. just noticed your music list... oh my goodness, I have to listen to Bon Jovi everyday and Thank You For Loving Me, for being my eyes 'cos I couldn't see, for being... yeah yeah, enough I know... but it is one of my ab fab favs... his Crush album is my ab fab fav, although have you heard Lost Highway his latest... it's very good and I'm thoroughly enjoying every track.
However, I was sitting here in a trance listening to Savage Garden until I saw Rod Stewart's name... okay, everyone's allowed the odd mistake ;>)
I love cards, too. They're basically a hobby. I love receiving them, I love looking through them for the perfect card to send out, I have several boxes of cards I already have on hand, and still I buy more...
All nice things to to make you happy. Some of the best things in life are the simplest things.
I so agree with you with #6, I don't need presents just to know that someone remembered is enough for me!
What makes me really happy lately is getting caught up with all the posts in my Google Reader!! And trust me - that's tough some days!
I'm sure #3 is very nice, now! And me, too on #4 & #9 :)
Ah yes Cindy simple pleasures are the best.
How did you manage that Queenie?????
What better place to spend your holidays than with you grandchildren Ann! I got your quiz answers thanks. Glad you're enjoying the music. :)
I spend hours looking for just the right card to send Julia and quite often buy some I really like months before I need them because I know just the person to send them to. :)
You are so right Mike.
I know what you mean Linda I'm struggling to keep up now I'm back at work! :(
Great minds think alike eh Skittles :)
I don't think I could have picked any better responses than yours Akela. All are exactly ones that I was thinking, well except for seeing MWM first thing and last thing.....haha......if that made me happy, I am pretty sure it would NOT make YOU very happy. haha
I tagged you with a virus over on my blog - come on by and have some fun with it if you'd like!
A great meal and drinks with friends is alwasy a sure way to feel happy...and retiring!
Don't know, good aren't I..
LOL yes I think that would have upset me slightly Nea. :)
Ok thanks Linda
They certainly do Jenny!
Course you do Queenie, get your thinking cap on. :)
