In Remembrance....

Remembrance Day
Armistice Day
Veterans Day

Whatever you call it, let us remember them and thank them for our freedom.

Very true.
Prince Charles (and his wife) was here in Pune yesterday to pay a visit to the War Memorial that is erected here for the WW-I & WW-II veterans.

Ah yes Haddock, I saw a photograph in the paper here of Prince Charles laying a wreath. Did you get to see him?

Indeed. All of our WWI veterans are gone now. But their deeds live on because we remember them, just as all of those veterans who came before and after.

So many WW2 veterans pass each day. I wish I had garnered more stories from my dad and grandpa.

as a "navy brat" there is a veteran near and dear to my heart, that's for sure. :)

And your trip here sounds FABULOUS Ms. A. I used to live in New England and it is absolutely beautiful. I am excited to hear about your adventures already!

I remember when there were still quite a few WW1 veterans... now there are barely any from WWII... terrible. I hate getting older. And I missed the ceremony this year ho hum.
(I just deleted a big antiwar rant.)
