Friday 55 Flash Fiction #153 Cool Water.....

The water was cool and pleasant.

Sunlight dancing on the surface.

People sitting on the bank, lazily reading, eating and drinking.

What's that dangling in the water?

He made a grab for it,

only to be hauled out of the water

into a keep net, with a hook in his mouth!

Who'd be a fish?

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

With a bit of luck.... he might be thrown back in!

Love the jewellery in the post below. You are very lucky to have a friend like that! Turquoise is one of my favourite colours.

A totally unexpected ending. Yes, I'd hate to be a fish.

What a twist.

Personally I'd like to be shark sometimes. They are beautiful, sleek creatures that cruise the oceans. But the get a raw deal and are very overfished.

Great story by the way!

Hopefully he will Maggie. I agree with you about the jewellery and yes I am very lucky. :)

I'm glad the ending was a surprise to you as I intended Valerie. :)

Thanks Scots Lass :)

Oooh no Beach Bum sharks have such DEAD eyes! Glad you liked the 55. :)

I'd love to be able to write a short story. I'm useless though. I might have written books, but never did learn the art of brevity. If one word will do you can guarantee I'll use 20!

Akelamalu said...

Trying to write in 55 words or 140 characters is a great challenge Lorraine and a lot easier than you might expect. After the first few one does it definitely becomes easier. :)
