Friday 55 Flash Fiction # 45 Jungle

Jungle

He crawled labouriously across the muddy ground trying desperately not to leave a trail

The enemy zoomed round the sky in search of him.

If they spotted him he would be dead meat.

Surrounded by lush vegetation, he desperately tried to avoid the traps they'd set to destoy him.

Why don't gardeners like us slugs?

Dad's battle with the snail inspired this one.

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

Poor slug! I never thought of life from a slug's perspective until now.

What is the problem with slugs/snails? They must harm the plants, I guess? They eat them, don't they?

Anyway, cute 55, Akelamalu. But how do you trap a slug?

Happy Friday!

That's what I asked! Poor little slimers...

You like slugs Alex? :0

Snails and slugs are a gardeners enemy, they eat the plants Smarmoofus. Slug pellets usually finish them off, or a container sunk into the ground containing beer will give them a happy death!

Stop it Buff, slugs and snails are not nice! ;)

LOL! I love the twist in the end here!

They must have their own world, their thoughts & fear!

Now I am wondering about EVERYTHING!

Anndi said...

Can you get them with garlic butter?

Dumdad said...

Wretched slugs - they slime into Scabby the cat's food bowl.

We can always count on you for a twist at the end. Well played.
Speaking of slugs...

Akelamalu said...

I wonder if they do think Mona? #:)

I've never tried Anndi, they might enjoy that! ;)

Poor Scabby Dumdad, fancy slurping up a slug with your food YUK!!

Thanks Mojo :)

We don't have slugs that I know of - but I remember seeing banana slugs over on the west coast and people putting out bowls of water with a piece of meat suspended over it. Dead slugs in the bowl - all yellow and icky! Eurghhhhhhh

Oh gracious they sound horrendous Aims!

Can't say as I have ever considered it from a snail or slug's point of view! Cleverly done.

As I was reading this one I had a sneaky feeling it had something to do with your previous snail trail post! Nice to see that I guessed right this time!

Welcome Liquid, I'm happy you enjoyed it. :)

I'm going to have to stop doing follow up 55s if you're guessing them Linda ((wink))

You're guessing them too Donnetta? I'll have to do some radical thinking!

Ah thanks Trav x
