He sat watching, waiting.
He'd made a mental note of how long they'd been there.
There were four of them, he'd get them before they knew what had happened.
Checking his watch, he moved quickly.
He only had a couple of minutes to
slap parking tickets on the cars that had run out of time.
Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.
Good one. I think they slap ticket on them before they expire.
ReplyDeleteAh, horror fiction. Scary ;-)
ReplyDeleteClever one, this. I was expecting a more gruesome scene...you got me there!
ReplyDeleteAnother surprise ending, you're so good at this. I was on tenterhooks wondering what was going to happen ... smiles.
ReplyDeleteI think I've encountered him!
ReplyDeletei think he left me a few notes before...under my windshield wiper...
ReplyDeleteThey really do issue those tickets quickly, don't they? Great 55!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you do it, but your endings ALWAYS get me!!!
ReplyDelete"slap parking tickets on the cars that had run out of time."
BRILLIANT!
And I'll be thinking of this post the next time I see a meter maid giving a ticket - HA!
Have a great weekend, m' dear!
X
So cleverly done .. I was suspecting he was an exterminator ...
ReplyDeleteAs far as revenue-generating schemes go (and that's EXACTLY what this is, make no mistake), parking tickets are even more egregious than speeding tickets.
ReplyDeleteAt least with speeding tickets there's a modicum of moral authority because somebody could get in a wreck. Who's life is endangered if somebody has their car parked five minutes longer?
Funny 55, Akelamalu!
Brillient!
ReplyDeleteI thought they had to wait until they expired Connie?
ReplyDeleteHehe, yes horror fiction Anthony LOL
Ah the twist worked Grandpa :)
Thanks Valerie I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I've never had a parking ticket AJ, thankfully. ;)
Ah you've been caught then Brian? :(
They do indeed Belinda!
Haha got you again eh Ron? Thanks hon. x

Excellent 55 My Dear.
You Rock The Empire!
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End...g
I swear they write the tickets before the meter expires and slap them on at the exact same time the red flag snaps up.
ReplyDeleteThat is typical, isn't it. getting ready to pounce.
ReplyDeleteMaggie X
Nuts in May
I can SO see a parking officer doing this sort of thing! I swear they get some evil pleasure out of writing tickets!
ReplyDeleteNo doubt, one of those cars is mine!
ReplyDeleteLOL...Oh I've met that dude before as well. Only once mind you and once was enough. Very well done. Have a great Friday :)
ReplyDeleteThey got me once. Never again!
ReplyDeleteI got threatened with a ticket once for putting coins in an expired meter...because it wasn't mine. :)
ReplyDeleteSeems being nice can cost you, unless you can explain kindness to strangers. Happy weekend!
You never, never, never disappoint!! :)
ReplyDeleteI also just got done soaking in all of your pics from your trip... I love that staircase...so gorgeous. Glad you had such a great time!!
Also I wish you well on being able to extend your membership!! Hopefully all goes well.

Thanks Snowelf and I'm pleased you enjoyed all the photos.
Sometimes I wonder if they ARE on commission Jannie.
Oh you should have stuck your tongue out at her Spiky. I'm glad you got there before she got you! ;)
Yep, they do it here too Joanny. That's so good of you helping other people defy the traffic wardens. :)
But it's so mean Cloudia!
those parking people are out in force in my town, one minute late and seventy bucks! the city has no money so the cops are all trying to bring it in!
