Friday 55 Flash Fiction #59 Fate

Fate

Abandoned, no longer of use.

Caught up in a sudden gust of wind.

Dragged this way and that, in an undulating rhythm created by nature.

Swirling upwards, heading for heaven.

Destined to spend eternity flapping like a flag

snagged in the branches of a barren tree.

Thus the fate of a discarded plastic carrier bag.

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

  14. Eternity is right, those things take forever to decompose!

But I suppose the poor bag didn't get to decide its fate, nor has it a voice to relate the tale. Lucky for Baggie, there's Akelamalu!

  15. Sometimes these perforated bags flapping away make me think of those rags people once tied to trees and bushes, to ask favors of the gods.
