Friday 55 Flash Fiction #188 Permanent Solution..

She'd thought about it long and hard.

It was a major operation.

Ben said she'd regret it later, want it reversing.

She'd made up her mind, the pills and usual things hadn't worked.

Having six children had piled on the weight, no more she decided....

a gastric band was the solution to her weight problems.

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

  6. I actually knew which direction this was going this week! Either that means I'm starting to figure out how your mind works or I just got lucky. I'm leaning more towards the latter!

    Have a great weekend, Pearl!

  11. A rubber band around his nuts would've been better!

  12. I'm still laughing over Yvonne's comment - yikes! I've never known anyone who's had one of those, but the way I see it, it's not a decision anyone is likely to take lightly, and I guess if it gets to that point, these things probably save move lives than they lose. Another lovely "twist" Ake.

  14. I used to do psych evals to clear people for this surgery, but I'm mixed about whether they are truly a good idea.

  16. Dying laughing at Yvonne...yes, I have to agree, that or tying him out in the yard like you would the dog lol! Haven't been active for a bit, but here I am over from my One Cat Shy of Crazy blog...maybe I need a rubber band around my head, just what I needed, a second blog!

Now that's a good idea Yvonne LOL

It does seem rather drastic but I guess it does work for some people Shrinky

    Vanessa Feltz is stupid Gleds!

Did you pass many of them SAW?

    Me too Mama Zen :0

I don't think she was bothered about all the children, just the weight Sandi.;)

  18. Virtually all of them. My job was just o rule out serous mental illness, not to make an assessment about whether the surgery was a good idea.

  19. A gal I work with had that surgery and she lost 200lbs in a little over a year. She's kept it off too.
