Microfiction Monday #23....

Susan at Stony River hosts this fun theme each Monday, so do pop over and read the others who have signed Mr. Linky. The rules are thus:

Every Monday Susan will post a picture for the subject of your story. Microfiction means the shortest of short stories. Think Aesop's fables, comic strips, or even jokes: complete stories that can be told in under a minute. For this game, the limit is a tweetable 140 characters or fewer, including punctuation and spaces.

Here's today's picture and my contribution.

As Mavis waited for the arriving train to stop,

she suddenly had the horrible feeling

that she’d left her train ticket at home - buggeration!

  13. ...And that's why I love ticketless travel!

I experienced this in 1969 when trying to board a plane to fly home to the US from Ireland! The pilot took pity on me, a distraught 21-year-old.

  18. akelamalu: I so know the feeling...a sick feeling that makes a person want to shrink to nothing. Luckily my girl had put them in her purse...for safe keeping.

I don't know if I wanted to slap her or kiss her. I chose the latter. cause she just might slap me back....hehehe

    loved it babe. xxx

  21. I know that feeling all too well.

Now before I use it what does buggeration mean?

  22. Oh, oh -- if Mavis doesn't hurry, she's going to give a whole new meaning to "running to catch a train".

  23. So do I Bill :)

    I don't know Casdok ;)

I'm glad you liked Mavis Peggy :)

I so agree with you Anthony!

    Yes it's so annoying Ron!

Oh Pat how wonderful that the pilot bent the rules for you. :)

I think she's going away for a good while Maggie.

It is a terrible feeling for sure Nitebyrd.

Glad you like the word Prayer Girl :)

We were on the same wavelength Hope :)

Oh I've had that sinking feeling too Spiky!

    Feel free Mama Zen :)

Glad you enjoyed it KB :)

Well I use Buggeration instead of Oh Bugger Pam, hope that helps you to use it. ;)

I think it's too late for Mavis to think about running Quilly ;)

  24. LOL. I can't stop laughing. She doesn't look like someone who would use the word buggeration, but that is what makes the story so good! Brilliant.
