Friday 55 Flash Fiction # 68 Spring

Spring

Unruly grass, needing a first cut.

Dead foliage, needs removing to allow new growth.

Previously bare branches, now sprouting buds.

Daffodils pushing their heads through the earth.

Snowdrops braving the last of the snow and frost,

shaking their heads in the biting March winds.

Just a few weeks before the garden bursts into life again.

Don't you just love Spring?

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

  16. We're slowly shaking off winter here... a little slower than most years but even at their worst, our winters are fairly mild so it's not so bad as all that. I love the anticipation that comes with this time of year -- except for the anticipation of the pollen storm that will soon erupt from it.
