Missing Child
The neighbours were all out searching for Kathy

Mother and Father frantic with worry, fearing the worst.

She’d been gone for hours

“When did you notice her missing?” the policeman asked

Where on earth is she?
They had looked everywhere, where could she be?
“What’s up Mum?” said Kathy crawling out from the understairs cupboard.

ReplyDeleteAnd you know that happens all the time!

Galen..xox
Yes, I'm glad it turned out she was only hiding. A very intriguing 55.
ReplyDeleteYou remain the Queen of wonderful endings - be they happy, shocking or just funny.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your new venture.
Aww, a happy ending. I hope Kathy did not get in to much trouble. :) This reminds me of a girl just found in the UK. Missing since Feb 19 only she was abducted. They found her today or recently.
ReplyDeleteAnyway very nice ending to your 55.
Tune in tomorrow Flowerpot :)
ReplyDeleteYes it does Citizen in fact it happened to my neice years ago!
Nice to see you back g-man, I'll be over shortly. :)

Yes I like a happy ending Barman and I just heard a snippet on the news about Shannon being found, I don't know the details yet.
Can't wait until the new writing venture!
ReplyDeleteGreat 55 flash, I bet she was just taking a nap!
haha! My son totally did this to me!!
ReplyDeleteI even did a picture-blog about it!
The only reason I knew he was still in the apt was because the deadbolt was still on.
:P Kids!

Oh I hope I don't disappoint you tomorrow Little Wing! :0
ReplyDeleteYou must have been relieved knowing he hadn't actually left the apartment snowelf!
One of mine used to like hiding - I was forever running up and down the road looking for her and she'd be laughing under a bed somewhere!
ReplyDeleteThank God that little Shannon has been found safe and well.
keeping w the 'missing' theme, i see. well done. :) i once went missing, too, but i won't tell the story because a)it's too embarrassing b)i'm luckily i'm alive (wasn't in danger, but could have been) c)shows how naive i was back when i was a little girl and d)can't show all my vulnerabilities, now can i? lol
ReplyDeletep.s. all have my kids have gone 'missing' in some form or another lol
ReplyDeleteThis one is much, much too true. (I did it myself to my own parents).
ReplyDeleteAh! I think I saw a picture on Snow's blog & a story about her son doing this to her!
ReplyDeleteHe was found sleeping in a closet!
wonderful 55 akelamalu! :)
Great news about Shannon Mother of this lot, I just hope she hasn't been through too much of an 'ordeal'! :(
ReplyDeleteYou must post about it Ciara I want to know what happened! Kids are little tinkers at times aren't they?
Oh you naughty boy Nick, tell us about it do!
I've not been reading Snows blog for very long so I haven't seen it Mona. I'll search her archives next time I pop over.
oh! i was worried the ending would be sad. so glad it wasn't but who among us parents hasn't known that moment of panic!
ReplyDeleteI think most of us have been there Lime :(
ReplyDeleteGlad that there's a happy ending!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad that there's a happy ending!!!
ReplyDeleteits unthinkable, isn't it? but we all think it, at some time or another.. which is probably important.
ReplyDeletewill check back on your new venture... intruiging....
Oh god! I remember when my daughter hid from me in the store, behind the clothing racks....what a horrible horrible feeling.
ReplyDeleteI was at the same time grateful when I found her and also wanted to smack her upside the head.
Have a good weekend, thanks for playing with us!
Another solid little story!
ReplyDeleteWhat's up? Kathy's up...in her room for the next twenty years, the little monkey!
ReplyDeleteNew writing venture? Can't wait!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I just did your Book Meme.
You do forget what little spaces those kids can hide in...
ReplyDeleteKeepinging with the theme of missing kids...... Im just glad that Shannon has been found alive this week after a month missing.... the police are giving no proper details as yet.... but its good news......
ReplyDeletex
That's the best part about writing the story CG, it can have a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteYes you're right there Lettie.
Once the feeling of relief has kicked in properly that's exactly what you want to do susie!
Thanks Travx
LOL exactly Pauline!
I'm on my way to read your book meme Julia.
Yeah it's surprising isn't it Buff?
Great news about Shannon Marmie but I can't help but feel there's something wrong at home as the police have kept her.:(
As usual....LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteI use to hide under the bathroon sinks. You know ME and my bathroom fetish!!!
Thanks for another clever FLASH!
Have a FAB weekend, Akelamalu!
Cleverly conceived and executed! Those kiddos are always playing tricks on parents! ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
hey I'm so glad they found her...
ReplyDelete... what's all this chatter about "something dodgy because she was less than a mile away..?"
thousands upon thousands of people can live within a built-up square mile as we all know: how ridiculous!
and why on earth has the little girl been taken into CARE??? THAT is a weird one.
I'm just glad she's ALIVE... HURRAH!!
;->...
OK I'm not talking about Kathy I'm talking about that little girl from Oop North int' news... y'know't't one...
ReplyDeleteLOL you and your bathrooms Ron!
ReplyDeleteThanks Storyteller and yes kids just love hiding don't they!
I realised you were talking about Shannon who has just been found Gleds. I have a feeling the authorities are not happy with Shannon's home life to take her into care rather than let her go straight home. :(
LOL...my brother did this too!
ReplyDeleteGreat story! I must get back to this..i've go so many ideas for them in my head..but can't seem to concentrate and get them out.
Good job!!!
Peace
